If you had a "do over" for one day...

Not sure what mine would be, perhaps the day, when I was 18 or so, had a verbal confrontation with my Father, then he went out side, had a heart attack and died, it was like 30 below...

If you receive benefit to being here please help out with expenses.

I've been fairly blessed in that most of the days I've regretted have been more in the way of embarrassment than tragedy.

The day I convinced my very smart wife that we ought to sell the $100,000 house we'd built in Perth when we moved to Canada, rather than keep it and rent it out, is one I'd love another go at, though - that house is probably worth close to $400,000 now.

Ah well, one of the facts of life is that the only way we can live it is forward...

And I am only allowed one???

Lots of days of embarrassement....Lots of friends lost/misplaced....lots of stupid mistakes that I made......and I only get one??? bigsigh

pals Oh Stan. My grandfather had nearly the same thing happen to him with his father.

If I had one day to live over I would never have bought my house that had LP siding on it. The siding had/has to be replaced and the whole thing has ended up being a nightmare.

Wow. You bought a house with LP siding? Was that the siding that was defective and recalled? I had a house with that.

yeah....lots of fun. Didn't know it was LP siding or that it had defects until after I'd bought the house.

Have you tried to find out if there is any recourse for you? Look it up on the internet. When I sold my house with LP ... they wanted ME to compensate THEM. I told them to take it up with LP. !!!

The day I injured my right deltoid muscle & biceps tendon. Because although it healed fine at the time, over a year ago, I re-opened the deltoid injury, and it has never healed since. And my efforts to let it rest so it could heal resulted in injury to my left deltoid, which is also not healing.

If I could "do over" one single day in my life, I think it would be the day in July 2007 when one of my dear friends called and told me she'd been diagnosed with lung cancer. She and I usually got together twice a year for lunch, on our respective birthdays. On this occasion we talked on the phone for a few minutes, and I promised I'd call and come by to see her "real soon."

One thing after another came up, several "emergencies" with my family ... and I never got over to visit my sick friend. But in November 2007 I called and left her a voicemail message that I was coming to pick her up to go out for her birthday lunch. Didn't get a response. The next day her son returned my call; he said his mother had died in August.

I was never so mortified in my life before this. I kept berating myself for days after that. I certainly could have -- should have -- stopped whatever I was doing in July and gone and visited her. She had been a very close friend for years, and here I'd failed her in her last illness. I was pretty upset with myself, to say the least. I hope some day I'll have a chance to ask her forgiveness.
