I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.

Psalms 139:14

June 28, 2001

I had been working on another machine most of the afternoon but I had heard that the machine that was doing the stitching of books was giving problems with the cover.

At about 5:00 PM I began working on the machine that had been giving problems and later, because I was so busy and had not heard about anymore problems, I thought that it had been fixed.

At about 7:00 PM I was informed that we were still having lots of problems (the same as before) and that it had been going on for some time.

After taking a break I went and looked and found the problem and I was able to fix it with just a short piece of wire. I was so proud of what I had done; I had fixed a major problem with just wire. It really made me feel good.

As I was thinking about my great accomplishment I started to think about how God should be given the credit. The above Bible verse came to mind, "I am fearfully and wonderfully made...". I thought about how He had made "dirt" from nothing, then from the "dirt" He had created an awesome computer (our brains) that was not only able to figure out that a piece of wire would do the trick but He gave that computer the tools (our bodies) to actually do the work (put the wire in place) and fix the problem.

Our God is truly an AWESOME God!

Hey Lineman, this was really good. I really appreciate the way you gave God the glory for creating your brain and giving you the tools and ability to fix the problem. Yes, we are fearfully and wonderfully made, and to be able to acknowledge Him as our creator when we have accomplished something is a praise in itself. Thank you for sharing your experience.

Blessings,

Having been raised on a farm and having farmed most of my life I'd like to say that "soil" and "dirt" are different. Soil is a wonderfully complex material that produces all our food either directly or indirectly. Dirt usually seems to have a negative connotation which can refer to soil but also much else that we encounter on this planet....mel
