Like I mentioned to someone else, I was listening to NPR the other day and they were interviewing a financial guy and he said they should spent at least 1.5 trillion. So you could probably ask 20 different financial guys the same question and you'll get 20 different answers, so I think we need to let this get done and see what happens. I listen to his speech and the Q&A on TV today and it sounded good, lets see if it works. The constitution calls for the actual count to be used. So, Obama will face constitutional challenges. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Dr. Shane Posted February 10, 2009 Posted February 10, 2009 Democrats have long wanted to use projections because they believe a lot of minority groups are not counted. Since minority groups tend to vote Democratic, the Democrats stand to gain political power by changing the way the census is taken. The authority to take a census rests with Congress. Congress has passed legislation giving the job to the Secretary of Commerce so the census director reports to him. The incoming Secretary of Commerce is going to be a Republican. So now Obama wants the census director to report to both of them. On the surface I don't see any cause for concern. Obama is not changing the census to projections.
