Mattie C. Mathias, 91, of Lancaster, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 8, 2009, at her home.

Mattie was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. She was known for her kindness and generosity, as well as being a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother.

She is survived by her sons, Robert A. Mathias, Harold Tom Mathias and John Mathias; daughters, Evelyn Bryan, Sandra Imler, Donna (Gary) Schmelzer, Beverly (Tim) Kinser, Karen Mathias and Brenda Fosnaugh; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman; parents, Joseph and Phebi Green; brothers, Richard, David, Robert and James Green; and sisters, Deana Flowers and Florence Rhodes.

Services will take place at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Halteman-Fett & Dyer Funeral Home with Freda Shultz officiating.

Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens.

Friends and family may visit from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
