Dr. Shane Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 February 12, 2009 Shane P. Linder XXXX XXXXXX Ave. Mercedes, Texas 78570 Congressman Rubén Hinojosa 2864 West Trenton Road Edinburg, TX 78539 Mr. Congressman: I am disappointed in the cuts made in the stimulus bill – especially to school construction. All across the valley school districts have “mobile” buildings they are using for classrooms. These mobile buildings provide shanty conditions for learning. They are not energy efficient and that means school districts must spend more to cool the buildings and less on actually educating the students. Furthermore school construction provides an immediate stimulus to the economy with good paying jobs. The Valley needs both the schools and the jobs. I do not understand why a Democrat President with a Democrat Congress felt it was necessary to cut out an essential part of the stimulus package. I am disappointed and consider this bill to be failure of leadership in Washington. I expected better. The slimmed down bill may not even be enough to impact the economy as needed. I voted for both you and Obama. I am not sure I’ll make that mistake again. Sincerely, Shane Linder Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... Find me at www.PostumCafe.com Author of Peculiar Christianity
Neil D Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 Ok, you have complained....Are you gonna post his reply? Since you have a fired the first volley with this audience watching, it seems only fair that we see how he responds to your complaint. If he does NOT respond, I see no reason for him to remain in office....However, if you don't post what he says, it would seem to me that you would be using us as a sounding board to further your political views...Which we don't mind as we have heard it before....but I mean, it is fair to hear how he responds to your letter, don'tcha think? Dr. Shane Posted February 13, 2009 Author Posted February 13, 2009 Many people voted for Democrats because we want universal health-care. If the Democratic leadership in Washington cannot even fund school construction, do we think they will possibly be cable to pass universal health-care? Quote Pastoral Family Counselor...
