We are Spiritual Israelites

God’s Law

God’s Law is called “The Law of the Lord”

Isaiah 5:24 says:

“Therefore as the fire devoureth the stubble, and the flame consumeth the chaff, so their root shall be as rottenness, and their blossom shall go up as dust: because they have cast away the law of the Lord of hosts, and despised the word of the Holy One of Israel.

Nehemiah 8:8 says:

“So they read in the book in the law of God distinctly, and gave the sense, and caused them to understand the reading.”

Nehemiah 9:3 says:

“And they stood up in their place, and read in the book of the law of the Lord their God one fourth part of the day; and another fourth part they confessed, and worshiped the Lord their God.”

Romans 7:22 says:

“For I delight in the law of God after the inward man.”

Romans 7:25 says:

“I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.

Romans 8:6-8 says:

“For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.

So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.”

Romans 8:15 says:

“For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, ‘Abba, Father’”.

Galatians 4:22 says:

“For it is written, that Abraham had two sons, the one by a bondmaid (Hagar had Ishmael), and the other by a freewoman (Sarah had Isaac).”

Galatians 4:23-26 says:

“But he who was of the bondwoman was born after the flesh; but he of the freewoman was by promise.

Which things are an allegory: for these are the two covenants; the one from mount Sinai, which gendereth to bondage, which is Hagar.

For this Hagar is mount Sinai in Arabia, and answereth to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children.

But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all.”

Galatians 4:28-29 says:

“Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise.

But as then he that was born after the flesh persecuted him that was born after the Spirit, even so it is now.”

Galatians 4:31 says:

“So then, brethren, we are not children of the bondwoman, but of the free.”

Psalm 40:8 says:

“I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy Law is within my heart.”

Romans 9:6b-10 says:

“For they are not all Israel, which are Israel:

Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children: but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called.

That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God; but the children of the promise are counted for the seed.

For this is the word of promise, At this time will I come, and Sarah shall have a son.

And not only this; but when Rebecca also had conceived by one, even by our father Isaac.”

Romans 9:13 says:

“As it is written, ‘Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated.”

Malachi 1:1-3 says:

“The burden of the word of the Lord to Israel by Malachi.

I have loved you, saith the Lord. Yet ye say, Wherein hast thou loved us? Was not Esau Jacob’s brother? Saith the Lord: yet I loved Jacob, and I hated Esau, and laid his mountains and his heritage waste for the dragons of the wilderness.”

Exodus 19:3 says:

“And Moses went up unto God, and the Lord called unto Him out of the mountain, saying, Thus shalt thou say to the house of Jacob, and tell the children of Israel.”

According to what we’ve been reading and studying from God’s Word the Bible, since not all Israel is of Israel, and that we are of the line of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and we have been made into a great nation.

We have the blessings of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

Jacob’s name means: Israel.

Isaac’s name means: He laughed.

So we have worked out from the Scriptures that:

1) Not all Israel is of Israel;

2) We have the promises of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob;

3) The Law of God, The Ten Commandments, was given to the house of Jacob in Israel, but not all Israel is of Israel;

4) According to Galatians, we are of the house of Jacob, we are the spiritual Israel, the true Israelites, the true believers who upholds God’s Commandments as spoken by Jesus in the New Testament, since He is the fulfillment of it all.

Matthew 22:37-40 Jesus says:

“Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.

On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.”

God’s law was written on stone, the law of love, in Exodus 31:18, which says:

“And He gave unto Moses, when He had made an end of communing with him upon mount Sinai, two tables of testimony, tables of stone, written with the finger of God.”

Exodus 31:13-17 the Lord says:

“Speak thou also unto the children of Israel, saying, ‘Verily my Sabbaths ye shall keep: for it is a sign between Me and you throughout your generations; that ye may know that I am the Lord that doth sanctify you.

Ye shall keep the Sabbath therefore; for it is holy unto you: everyone that defileth it shall surely be put to death: for whosoever doeth any work therein, that soul shall be cut off from among his people.

Six days may work be done; but in the seventh is the Sabbath of rest, holy to the Lord: whosoever doeth any work in the Sabbath day, he shall surely be put to death.

Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the Sabbath, to observe the Sabbath throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant.

It is a sign between Me and the children of Israel for ever: for in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day He rested, and was refreshed.”

So the true believers are not carnal, but are of the promises of the line of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and they keep God’s law of love within their hearts, souls, and minds, and they delight to do His commandments.

We are the spiritual Israel of Jacob, because not all Israel is of Israel.

So we need not focus on the physical Israel, but the spiritual Israel.

We are the Spiritual Israel, the true believers, if we have the blessings through Abraham and we abide by the Ten Commandments which is God’s law for all mankind as spoken by in the New Testament.

In Galatians 4:29 it says:

“But as then he that was born after the flesh persecuted him that was born of the Spirit, even so it is now.”

We are born of the Spirit, if we are the Spiritual Israel, keeping His commandments in love and remembering His seventh-day Sabbath and resting in Jesus 24hrs/7days each week.

The people born of the flesh persecutes the people born of the Spirit.

All those people that are Spiritual Israel, the true believers, are being persecuted by the people of the flesh, the apostates.

Persecution: The flesh versus the spiritual promised one.

Wherever the children of the spirit are persecuted it is by those of the flesh.

1Corinthians 15:50 says: “Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.”

Galatians 4:23 says: “But he who was of the bondwoman was born after the flesh; but he of the freewoman was by promise.”

So, we’ve manage to work out that the Ten Commandments was given to physical Israel, but now they are for Spiritual Israel because God has placed His laws inside the hearts of all True Believers.

Psalms 119:69-72 says:

“The proud have smeared me with a lie against me: but I will keep thy precepts with my whole heart.

Their heart is as fat as grease: but I delight in thy law.

It is good for me that I have been afflicted; that I might learn thy statutes.

The law of thy mouth is better unto me than thousands of gold and silver.”

In the above verses it states that despite what people might say about you and despite all the lies people might say about you we need to stand firm and keep thy precepts with our whole heart and delight in thy law of God.

All those people that want to follow God and become Spiritual Israel and keep His Commandments will suffer persecutions from those of the flesh and will be afflicted that you might learn from thy statutes.

The law of God’s mouth is better than thousands of all the riches ever.

Romans 7:14 says:

“For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin.”

The law is spiritual, so we cannot keep God’s law in the flesh, instead we keep it being spiritual.

Galatians 5:16-21 says:

“This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.

For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.

But if ye are led of the Spirit, you are not under law.

Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these:

Adultery, fornication, sexual impurity, sexual excess, idolatry, witchcraft, sorcery, hatred, strife, lack of agreement, jealousy, wrath, selfish ambitions, disagreements, heresies, envyings, murders, drunkenness, excessive eating, gluttony, carousing, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.”

The above verses tell us about the people of the flesh which will not inherit the kingdom of God.

These next few verses will tell us the people of the Spirit, those who will inherit the kingdom of God.

Galatians 5:22-26 says:

“But the fruit of the Spirit is:

Love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, self-control: against such there is no law.

And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.

If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.”

Are you looking for Physical Israel or Spiritual Israel?

Are you staying in the Flesh or becoming Spiritual?

We can only make the law of God a delight when it goes side by side with the fruits of the Spirit. The first fruit is ‘Love’, for a very special purpose, because the law of God is summed up in that word, ‘Love’.

Matthew 22:36-40 says:

‘Master, which is the great commandment in the law?’ said a lawyer.

Jesus responded unto him, ‘Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment.

And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.

On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.’

The law of God is summed up in this word, ‘Love’.

Love for God and love for our neighbor.

But these two commandments are not only in the New Testament, but they were spoken back in the Old Testament.

Deuteronomy 6:5 says:

“And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thine might.”

Leviticus 19:17-18 says:

“Thou shalt not hate thy brother in thine heart: thou shalt in any wise rebuke thy neighbor, and not suffer sin upon him.

Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself: I am the Lord.”

In Matthew 22:40 Jesus says:

“On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.”

So we have a Spiritual Law of Love in the Ten Commandments, God’s Law.

The first four commandments are all about our relationship to God.

About keeping Him first, not making idols or graven images, not swearing or cursing His name, remembering the Sabbath Day to make it a delight.

The next six commandments are all about our relationship with our neighbors, with all those people that we come into contact with.

About respecting our parents, not stealing, lying, staying pure, not being jealous, not committing adultery, and not killing.

We uphold the Law of God because it is in our hearts, and if we really do believe in Jesus we would do what He says.

All those wanting to be followers of Jesus Christ and they want to make their relationship work with Him, then upholding His law is the way to go.

All True Believers are called ‘Spiritual Israel’, because we do the commandments that He tells us to do.

Galatians 4:29 says:

“But as then he that was born after the flesh persecuted him that was born after the Spirit, even so it is now.”

People who are willing to stand for the Truth of God’s Law in the Spirit are being persecuted by those people in the flesh.

That is God’s whole law, the Ten Commandments of Love.

Those people who are willing to keep and observe God’s Law, the whole Law are the Spiritual House of Jacob, the Spiritual Israel.

Romans 9:6-8 says:

“…For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel: Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children: but, in Isaac shall thy seed be called.

That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God; but the children of the promise are counted for the seed.”

Galatians 4:28 says:

“Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise.”

So, if we, being Spiritual Israel, and keeping the whole law of God, the whole Ten Commandments in Love, we will get persecuted for doing so by the people of the flesh.

The fourth commandment says:

“To remember the Sabbath, and keep it holy, six days we work, and the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord our God.”

This is the only commandment that has been changed not by God but by man.

The only commandment that says “Remember”, is the only commandment that mankind has changed without any authority from the Scriptures.

The seventh day is blessed and sanctified and made holy, but instead people keep the first day of the week, the day of worship has been changed from Saturday to Sunday without consulting God’s Word first.

This could be very dangerous…

Matthew 5:18 Jesus says:

“For verily I say unto you, till heaven and earth pass, one jot or the smallest letter shall by no means pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.”

Heaven and earth hasn’t passed away yet, so we need to still observe the seventh-day Sabbath and make it a delightful day and make it a happy day and keep that day especially between you and Jesus, make this relationship work between the two of you.

But, don’t make it a burden, instead, make it a DELIGHT.

“I delight to do thy will, and to serve you whole heartedly with Love.”

We should observe the seventh-day Sabbath and always remember Him wholeheartedly and know in your hearts that Jesus died and did raise again only for you, and to set you free from the law of bondage, and give you the law of love, liberty, freedom in Jesus Christ to willfully do what He says as a delight and not as a burden--always cheerfully.

Try and work out for yourselves the following Scripture verses…

Romans 14:5-6 says:

“One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind.

He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it. He that eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks.”

The above could be a “Loophole.”

Loophole: An ambiguity or inadequacy in the law or a set of rules.

We’ll compare this scripture reference above with some others so we can clearly understand what it is trying to tell us…

Romans 15:8-13 says:

“Now I say that Jesus Christ was a minister of the circumcision for the truth of God, to confirm the promises made unto the fathers:

And that the Gentiles might glorify God for His mercy; as it is written, ‘For this cause I will confess to thee among the Gentiles, and sing unto thy name.’

And again He saith, ‘Rejoice, ye Gentiles, with His people.’

And again, ‘Praise the Lord, all ye Gentiles; and laud Him, all ye people.’

And again, Isaiah saith, ‘There shall be a root of Jesse, and He that shall rise to reign over the Gentiles; in Him shall the Gentiles trust.’

Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.”

Colossians 2:16-17 says:

“Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of a holy day, or of the new moon, or of the Sabbath days:

Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.”

Ephesians 2:11-22 says:

“Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands;

That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:

But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.

For He is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;

Having abolished in His flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordiances; for to make in Himself of twain one new man, so making peace;

And that He might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:

And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh.

For through Him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.

Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints, and of the household of God;

And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief corner stone;

In whom all the building fitly framed together growth unto a holy temple in the Lord:

In whom ye also are builded together for a habitation of God through the Spirit.”

Going back to Colossians 2:16-17 clearly says that all the laws and obligations in the Old Testament written by man, not God, have now been put to the cross of Jesus.

Who is or what is the Sabbath day in the New Testament:

The answer is God’s Holy seventh-day Sabbath is still here today.

Matthew 11:28-30 Jesus gives us an invitation to REST in Himself:

“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

Jesus is asking for us to go to Him because He is our true rest, we will truly rest in Him eternally 24hrs/6days and the Sabbath Day also.

Matthew 12:8 Jesus also states:

“For the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath.”

Jesus was claiming deity of the Sabbath, because He Himself is now the Lord of the seventh-day Sabbath each week as well as going to Him every other day through the week to have this personal intimate relationship with Him and to make it work between the two of us.

Hebrews 4:7-11 states:

Again He designates a certain day, saying in David, “Today,” after such a long time, as it has been said:

“Today, if you will hear His voice, do not harden your hearts.”

For if Joshua had given them rest, then He would not afterward have spoken of another day.

There remains therefore a rest for the people of God.

For he who has entered His rest has himself also ceased from his works as God did from His.

Let us be therefore diligent to enter that rest, lest anyone fall according to the same example of disobedience.

We are being reminded to enter into the Sabbath rest Jesus gave us each seventh-day Sabbath and also resting in Him through the week.

Matthew 27:51 states from Christ crucifixion:

Then, behold, the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom; and the earth quaked, and the rocks were split.

The thick curtain to the holy of holies in the temple is now torn in two, we can now enter into the presence of Jesus Christ being filled with His Holy Spirit at any time, any day, and we can rest in Him and worship Him alone.

John 4:23-24 Jesus states that:

“But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him.

God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”

We need to rest in Jesus and worship Him in spirit and truth in a relationship with Him and obey Him by making His Sabbath a delight each Saturday and going to Jesus through the week for guidance.

So, the supposed loophole is not a loophole anymore, because we keep the Ten Commandments if we love Jesus with all our heart, soul, and mind.

The laws of God are summed up when Jesus spoke to the young rich ruler in Matthew 19:16-26:

The young rich ruler wanted to know how to get eternal life so Jesus told him, “If you want to enter into life, keep the commandments.”

The ruler said to Jesus, “Which ones?”

Jesus says, “don’t murder, don’t commit adultery, don’t steal, don’t bear false witness, honor mother and father, love your neighbor as yourself.”

The ruler says, “all these I’ve kept from my youth. What else do I still lack?” And Jesus says plainly, “sell all you have and give to the poor and you’ll have treasure in heaven, then come and follow Me.”

Jesus stated commandments 5 to 10 as the moral laws, and He also stated the first four commandments as worship laws to keep Him first.

So the True Believers are the Spiritual House of Jacob:

1) Not all Israel is of Israel;

2) We worship God in spirit and in truth;

3) We love to keep His commandments;

4) We have all the promises and blessings of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob;

5) The Law of God, The Ten Commandments, was given to the physical house of Jacob, but since Jesus crucifixion, it is for the spiritual house of Jacob because not all Israel is of Israel;

6) According to Galatians, we are of the house of Jacob, we are the Spiritual Israel, the true Israelites, the true believers who upholds God’s Commandments.

7) We are not carnal but spiritual;

8) The Law is all about LOVE;

We, the true believers, the spiritual Israel, do not live carnally minded, but by the Spirit of the Living God and we worship Him in spirit and in truth.
