But I guess O.J. is now in jail for trying to steal his own stuff back - but not for beheading his ex-wife. Because I know that our Father desires all men to be saved I've had to divorce myself from any derogation of individuals who take part in sinful conduct. It is enough to know that if the person who was beheaded would give their allegiance to Jesus were they given the chance, the resurrection of the just might still be a possibility for them. OTOH, while the beheader might live their life out in comparative safety on this earth, there is a time that justice will be served without partiality. Praise God all have opportunity to ask for repentance before that day arrives. "He is the one whom God exalted to His right hand as a Prince and a Savior, to grant repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins." Acts 5:31 NASB Regards! Quote Lift Jesus up!!
Dr. Shane Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 Satan himself is behind all of these acts of evil. The human being committing them has been fooled by the devil to do this evil. There is forgiveness for the human sinner if he or she repents of the evil and turns to Christ. However make no mistake, evil doers will not inherit the kingdom of heaven. Without the needed repentance and life transformation we remain on the side of the devil and will be destroyed with him. Yet in personal crisis he follows the most horrendous teachings of that faith. It is my understanding that in the Quran the word love is never expressed. Knowing that all the good deeds done by anyone can never atone for the lack of love in that person, would that not exclude anyone from the kingdom of heaven who follows after false doctrine, no matter how faithful they might perform? "Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing."1 Cor 13:1-3 NKJV There is one promise given which might offer mercy to a follower of false doctrine under certain circumstances. "Jesus said, "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.".Luke 23:33 NIV Regards! Quote Lift Jesus up!!
Moderators John317 Posted February 18, 2009 Moderators Posted February 18, 2009 It is my understanding that in the Quran the word love is never expressed. Not really true, but it true that it is not referred to nearly as often as it is in the Bible. The Muslim would never say, on the basis of the Qur'an, that Allah wants people to love their worst enemies, for instance. That is not in the Qur'an. But it does mentioned love, although almost always in reference to Allah. It does not even command a man to love his wives or his neighbors. These are the references to love in the Qur'an-- Allah is loving; he loves those who do good to others; he loves those who turn to him; he loves the steadfast; he loves the dutiful; he loves those who trust in him; he loves the equitable; the love of Allah is gained by following Holy Prophets; Allah loves and is loved; Allah created man out of love [it also says Allah created man out of a "despised fluid"]; Allah is to be loved by man; man is to love God; Allah is pleased with the righteous, and they with him. The above is about all the Qur'an says about love, so you can see the Bible has far, far more to say about it. The second chapter, The Cow (verse 195) says, "And spend in the way of Allah* and cast not yourselves to perdition with your own hands and do good ( to others). Surely Allah loves the doers of good." *"Spend in the way of Allah" is a reference (according to my Islamic commentary written by a highly regarded Muslim scholar) to the funds needed for the defensive wars of the Muslims. "If they withheld monetary aid to defend themselves when attacked, they would be casting themselves to perdition with their own hands." (The Holy Qur'an, with English Translation and Commentary, Maulana Muhammad Ali, 1917, 2002.) Quote John 3:16-17 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. [17] For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.
Members phkrause Posted February 18, 2009 Members Posted February 18, 2009 Hey John, I read somewhere that Muhammad didn't write the Quran. That it was oral dictation, and actually complied later. It would appear, according to the Quran, that Allah is very self centered, seemingly uninterested in sharing the Divine virtue of our Father in heaven, that of loving the undeserving. An overwhelming difference between true Christianity and Islam. And the quotes you gave also appear to explain why there is so much earnest effort on the part of devotees to Islam, to ensure there are no mistakes allowed in personal behaviors that would result in freedom to accept the Sovereign God's right of forgiveness of sin. I begin to see why beheading, hacking off body parts and massacre seems to be the up and coming means of human beings attempts at solving the worlds problems. Makes it easy to see Jesus as the Divine Son of God all the more appealing. "All things have been delivered to Me by My Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father. Nor does anyone know the Father except the Son, and the one to whom the Son wills to reveal Him. Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls." Matthew 11:27-29 NKJV "FOR THIS IS THE COVENANT THAT I WILL MAKE WITH THE HOUSE OF ISRAEL AFTER THOSE DAYS, SAYS THE LORD:I WILL PUT MY LAWS INTO THEIR MINDS,AND I WILL WRITE THEM ON THEIR HEARTS.AND I WILL BE THEIR GOD,AND THEY SHALL BE MY PEOPLE."Hebrews 8:10 NASB Emphasis theirs LHC Blessings! Moderators John317 Posted February 19, 2009 Moderators Posted February 19, 2009 Hey John, I read somewhere that Muhammad didn't write the Quran. That it was oral dictation, and actually complied later... Yes, it was dictated to Mohammed by a spirit claiming to be from Allah, but Mohammed thought it was an evil spirit until his wife persuaded him to return and cooperate with the spirit. The Qur'an is written in the reverse order, with the first section (only a few verses) to be dictated put at the end of the book and the last parts (the longest) put at the beginning. It's important that it was dictated by the angel. For Muslims this means the Koran gives the very words of Allah, which for that reason they consider far more reliable that the "corrupted" Bible. I show respect for the Koran because I respect and care deeply for some friends of ours who are Muslims from Afghanistan, but personally I'm convinced that Mohammed's original intuitions were right. Mohammed studied both Judaism and Christianity and would have become a Christian except for the terrible corruption in the church during that time. Think of how many billions of people have been misled by the Qur'an into believing that Jesus was just a human messenger of Allah and that he never died on the cross for their sins. I believe that Rev. 9 refers to the Muslim rise to power. Quote John 3:16-17 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. Moderators John317 Posted February 19, 2009 Moderators Posted February 19, 2009 HEY JOHN317 THIS sounds like conditional love only.... dgrimm60 Yes, it is sad, isn't it. It's very legalistic when you compare it to the Bible, especially the NT. You really do have to earn Allah's love. You gain his love by following the prophets. There are some verses in the Bible that can be understood that way, but the Bible also contains many verses that show God loves freely because HE IS LOVE. That is His very nature. No such teaching about Allah is found in the Qur'an. Quote John 3:16-17 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. [17] For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.
