olger Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 Obama more popular than Jesus Christ humbly (and regretfully) submitted by olger Quote "Please don't feed the drama queens.."
Woody Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 Who did this? Fox? GW Bush is number 5 ? This one is hard to believe Olger . Not one of your better ones. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
olger Posted February 21, 2009 Author Posted February 21, 2009 Chicago Sun Times, apparently. Quote "Please don't feed the drama queens.."
Woody Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 Yeah. This poll put G W Bush ahead of Abe Lincoln, John F. Kennedy, and Mother Teresa. Huh ????????????????????????????????????????????????? Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
Members phkrause Posted February 21, 2009 Members Posted February 21, 2009 Interesting poll! Not sure that I put a lot of stock into it. Since its primarily a secular kind of thing. Also it kind of shows me how unspiritual the world really is that they would even put anyone in the same caliber as our Savior. I remember the histeria John Lennon caused when he made that statement that it seemed to him that the Beatles where more popular that Jesus. I didn't see anyone complaining this time. I guess times have really changed! pk Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Proverbs 29;2

Moderators John317 Posted February 21, 2009 Moderators Posted February 21, 2009 Yeah. This poll put G W Bush ahead of Abe Lincoln, John F. Kennedy, and Mother Teresa. Wait till Bravus sees this one! Oh boy. Bush has gone from being rated #19 when he was in office to now being #5, and he's just getting started. Quote John 3:16-17 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. [17] For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.
Joe_in_RP Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 Some are calling him the messiah. There is a guy doing a movie called the Obama deception. Quote
Moderators Bravus Posted February 21, 2009 Moderators Posted February 21, 2009 Heh, the poll question was 'America's hero', not job approval, so comparing with Bush's job approval numbers is kind of moot. And at fifth on a poll like that, it's very likely that he got *less* than 20% of the votes... in fact, it's a mathematical certainty. And I'm pleased that the readers in Chicago were generally smart enough to recognise that Jesus is not 'America's hero', he's the world's saviour. Different thing, dumb poll. Quote Truth is important
olger Posted February 21, 2009 Author Posted February 21, 2009 Mom said not to Assume, David. Quote "Please don't feed the drama queens.."
Moderators Bravus Posted February 21, 2009 Moderators Posted February 21, 2009 No assumption involved at all. Let me lay it out for you. It's a poll where people have to choose one alternative, they don't get multiple choices. For Dubya to get 20% of the vote and come fifth is impossible, because that would mean all of the top 5 also got 20% (5x20=100), so it would be impossible to rank them above him. It would also making ranking anyone below him impossible. So, simply, mathematically, no assumption required, he definitely got less than 20% of the votes. Quote Truth is important
Woody Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 I must be a prophet. I foretold that Bush would have a good legacy. And it has already happened. He has jumped ahead of some of the greatest Americans of all time. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
Moderators Bravus Posted February 21, 2009 Moderators Posted February 21, 2009 Or, you know, the people of Chicago have short memories. Quote Truth is important
Woody Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 You do have a point. They did vote for Obama. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.

Moderators Bravus Posted February 22, 2009 Moderators Posted February 22, 2009 Short memory, like I said: how many under 30 even know who the Duke is? It's why this poll ought to be taken with a grain of salt roughly the size of Lake Michigan Quote Truth is important
Neil D Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 Histeria of the right..."The sky is falling...The sky is falling." Figure this out...the poll asks someone off the street, without warning...asked who's your favorite hero, and instantly people are thinking of headlines..who has the headlines...Who has been coming to mind? That also includes to who do you talk about? In church? In your neighborhood? Guess what? Obama does... It's a fad, folks...Nothing to worry about...
