Lineman Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090201/ap_on_bi_ge/dealer_defaults SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The national wave of auto dealership closures has come crashing down on thousands of people who are on the hook for used-car loans that dealers were supposed to absolve. When a car buyer still owes money on a vehicle he is trading in, the dealer promises to pay off the outstanding loan, then resells the vehicle. But as more dealers go out of business, some are sticking consumers with the bill. Lenders can then go after the previous owner who thought the debt was paid, or repossess the car from the new owner who assumed it came with clear title. "It's devastating for people when it happens because they have two car payments and they can't afford them," said Rosemary Shahan, president of Consumers for Auto Reliability and Safety, a Sacramento-based nonprofit that lobbies on behalf of vehicle owners. "Their credit is destroyed for no fault of their own because the dealer defaulted." Quote Visit and Share the BibleTimelines.com URL ! Members phkrause Posted February 22, 2009 Members Posted February 22, 2009 Pretty sad situation where in. Seems like God is allowing things to progress downward everywhere around us. pk Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Woody Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 It is interesting that when times get worse ... God pours out His Spirit and allows for increased knowledge and power. So, it is a mixed blessing. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
olger Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 True. I noticed even Robert & John (more robert than John) in agreement yesterday. This is a good thing. No time to argue. ger Quote "Please don't feed the drama queens.."
Woody Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 True. I noticed even Robert & John (more robert than John) in agreement yesterday. This is a good thing. No time to argue. ger Don't tell me. No way ... Robert and John in agreement. It must be something in the air. Stan and I were also in agreement. What is going on here? I am going to have to speak to Rob about this issue. Woody Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 I don't think that would make any difference with Rob. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
GreatLakesGramma Posted February 23, 2009 Posted February 23, 2009 Dgrimm, we don't have to agree to get along. This sounds like it could be really bad news for my son. He traded in a car with an outstanding loan on it last year. I hope the dealer he dealt with isn't going to do this. They already ripped him off on the trade-in. Lewis

True-believer Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 Dgrimm, we don't have to agree to get along. Very true!!! We don't have to agree with the sunday churches to get along with them!!! Quote Luke 4:19To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.
Kountzer Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 Speaking of sunday churches and all that, as I've mentioned before, I've been having sabbath conflict issues with my job lately, over the past 3 or 4 months. I used to work 7:30am until 4:30pm m-f one week, then the next work 8:30pm until 5:30pm, or until the last customer was seen, after the doors are locked at 5:00pm. Now I am working 10:30am until 7:30pm at night, or until the last customer is seen, after the door is locked at 7:00pm. This schedule is a conflict because the sunsets early in the winter. In light of all that I got into a discussion with one of my supervisors, who is also a female state trooper, and is mexican american. She asked me what exactly do I do on the sabbath? Do I have a prayer rug? She was referring to muslims and their prayer rituals. She also asked if I was coerced or forced to attend church, was i forced to return money. Was I forced to sit and listen to the sermon. My answer to all that was no. I tried to explain how sda worship is very similar to protestant sunday church worship. It is not all that different from the style of worship I remember from the baptist church. I wasn't offended by anything she asked. If anything I was grateful for the opportunity to discuss the issue. This supervisor is from a catholic background, but I don't think her and her husband and family go to church often. I find it amazing and somewhat amusing how ignorant people are about what is in the bible. Quote I prayed for twenty years but received no answer until I prayed with my legs. Frederick Douglass
