Members phkrause Posted February 23, 2009 Members Posted February 23, 2009 There's a arrow on the image that TS supplied! I take it that you don't see it. I had no problem seeing the video. pk Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Proverbs 29;2
Members phkrause Posted February 23, 2009 Members Posted February 23, 2009 I think the problem with there video is, is that there are more than 1 Herod. The Herod who tried to kill all the baby's when Jesus was born, and than when this Herod died, i believe it was his son or a relative and his name was also Herod. I also have heard that Herod the name might have been a title and not really a name. Thought I'd throw that out there. pk Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Proverbs 29;2
Cosmin M. Posted February 23, 2009 Posted February 23, 2009 Jesus was not crucified at 29 years. Quote
Amelia Posted February 24, 2009 Posted February 24, 2009 King Herod of Judea sat on the throne prior to and during the birth of Jesus. He died while the Holy family were in exile in Egypt. King Herods son Archelaus takes up the throne and the Holy family move on to Nazareth and Jesus is raised there. Herod the Tetrarch is sitting on the throne during Jesus' ministry and beheads John the Baptist. Jesus goes to John the Baptists and is baptised. Jesus starts collecting disciples. Jesus is tempted in the desert. Jesus hears that John the Baptist has been arrested and begins preaching "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near." True-believer Posted February 24, 2009 Posted February 24, 2009 Wow... I didn't find the video that interesting... It was too false in its statements concerning Luke's Gospel. Where did this guy get his degrees from? I pray that people will study for themselves instead of taking this video as fact... Quote Luke 4:19To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.
LifeHiscost Posted February 24, 2009 Posted February 24, 2009 I am sure this fellow has got it wrong, but you as bible professors can help me out, what s wrong with this vid? Why would I visit a place that would attempt to discredit the written record of Jesus. Having experienced His influence in my life, to explore the possibilities that what He has given is not true is only allowing my curiosity take me to the same place Eve visited when contemplating the comment, "Thou shalt not surely die." "You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me." John 5:39 NKJV Regards! Quote Lift Jesus up!!
LifeHiscost Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 HEY LUKE ADAM GOSS there are many so called theology people that seem very well educated but they are always looking for loop holes it seems like..... and LIFEHISCOST if people are searching for the truth some time they will seek out what ever they can find even if it seems totally wrong to us.... but like you said once a person is grounded then we can see the red flags come up.... dgrimm60 TU Thank you, dgrimm. Being grounded to me means accepting these two promises. Then the rest becomes easier to see. "Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest." Matthew 11:28 NASB "I have blotted out, as [by] a thick cloud, Thy transgressions, And as [by] a cloud thy sins, Return unto Me, for I have redeemed thee."Isaiah 44:22 YLT Blessings!
