Cosmin M. Posted February 24, 2009 Posted February 24, 2009 Wow. Today I got so much homework from school! This is what I have to do... -Required (Must do both): 1. Draw and label the electromagnetic spectrum, including at least one example of each type of wave. 2. Draw and label a diagram of the human ear. Writ a paragraph about how different parts of the ear help you to hear. Write another paragraph about how your hearing can be damaged and possible solutions to fix the damage. -Pick 3 from the following list: 1. Research how a bat is able to navigate. (Must be at least 1 page) 2. Create a vibration painting. Apply paint on a piece of paper and vibrate different objects against the paper to produce unusual effects. 3. Write a poem using at least 15 "sound" words. 4. Do a survey to find out what colors are favored by 50 people (boys v. girls; adults v. children; by age). Graph the results. 5. Use the internet to study the history of the camera (Must be at least 1 page). 6. Build a sun dial based on research you obtained from the internet or the library. 7. Use the internet to discover how they get sound into movies (must be at least 1 page). Also I have to do a research paper on some famous guy. Then I have math homework to do. -I have some work to do today. So I probably won't be on here long. :( Quote
Cosmin M. Posted February 24, 2009 Author Posted February 24, 2009 Also, the reason I wrote here all this is for some of you adults who stay at home and have nothing really to do. You could always do these projects. :) Quote
Members phkrause Posted February 24, 2009 Members Posted February 24, 2009 I can't wait to do your homework for you. hahahahahahahahaha Talking about bats, we used to have two bats living on our porch one summer. That was the best summer, we had very little to no messquitoes. Nice! pk Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Liz Posted February 24, 2009 Posted February 24, 2009 If it were me, on the pick 3 choices, I would do #1, #4 and #6---they look like the funnest ones. Which ones are you going to do? Moderators Bravus Posted February 24, 2009 Moderators Posted February 24, 2009 PS What grade are you in at school? Quote Truth is important
Cosmin M. Posted February 24, 2009 Author Posted February 24, 2009 I am in 8th grade but I am supposed to be in 9th. Because when I cam to USA I could not speak English and I had to re-do Kindergarten. Plus I can almost at the end of the year anyways. Quote
GreatLakesGramma Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 I can't wait to do your homework for you. hahahahahahahahaha Talking about bats, we used to have two bats living on our porch one summer. That was the best summer, we had very little to no messquitoes. Nice! pk We have so many mosquitoes around here, that would be so good! Except for one thing - the last couple of years the number of bats with rabies has increased around here to the point that they are advising people to kill any bats found in the house & take them in for testing, instead of opening the door and letting them out. About 50 people had to be treated after being bitten by bats last year in our county. Quote Catherine God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. Psalm 73:26. Members phkrause Posted February 25, 2009 Members Posted February 25, 2009 Interesting I had always heard that bats don't attack people, but I could be wrong. Also they slept all day. The only time they go out is at night, and that's when they eat. And lucky for me they ate messitoes. But they only stay for one year. And than they left. I understand that they only stay for a short time than move on. Almost or just like yellow jackets, who look for a new home every year. at least around here they do. pk Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. GreatLakesGramma Posted February 28, 2009 Posted February 28, 2009 When they have rabies, they don't behave normally. Quote Catherine God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. carolaa Posted March 8, 2009 Posted March 8, 2009 Apparently, their bite is not easily detectable, so people can get rabies and not even know it until it's too late to treat it. So, yes, definitely, if you see a bat in your house, kill it and call animal control or whatever is appropriate. Quote
Administrators Gail Posted March 8, 2009 Administrators Posted March 8, 2009 I asked my son yesterday if he had bats in Africa and he said that when they would canoe in the river thousands of bats would swarm all over the place Quote Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.
GreatLakesGramma Posted March 8, 2009 Posted March 8, 2009 I actually like bats. I think they are cute. Plus they do eat mosquitoes, which we have way too many of around here, due to a high concentration of wetlands. Michigan is a state of many wetlands, and our county has the highest concentration of in the entire state. But I am very cautious toward them, and don't want them in my house. Quote Catherine God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. Psalm 73:26. "To be a Christian means to forgive the inexcusable, because God has forgiven the inexcusable in you." -- C. S. Administrators Gail Posted March 8, 2009 Administrators Posted March 8, 2009 Kev said that the folks in Africa eat them. One guy he knew used to fling them like shooting elastics... Cosmin M. Posted March 8, 2009 Author Posted March 8, 2009 So far, I have done all the required. And I finished 3 and 7 and I am almost done with 4. (I will just make up the rest of the people I don't have.) Then for English I have to write a biography on any person I choose. I chose Adrian Mutu who is a Romanian soccer player... http://people.famouswhy.com/adrian_mutu I will finish my English essay today because it is due Tuesday and I want to relax on Monday after school. Members phkrause Posted March 8, 2009 Members Posted March 8, 2009 One year we had a pair of bats live on our back porch. During the day they just hung out, upside down of course. During the night they would do there thing, which was eat all the mosquitoes. That summer we had none to speak of, it was great. But they only stayed that summer. pk Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Proverbs 29;2
