With that said, Bacchiocchi believed that Christians were required to keep all the old covenant sabbaths. He just could not see that the old covenant sabbath was a shadow of the rest found in Christ as recorded in Col. In fact all the old covenant law was a shadow to Israel and not to Christians under the new covenant. Col 2:16 - 17 (NIV) 16Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day. 17These are a shadow of the things that were to come; the reality, however, is found in Christ.
