Woody Posted February 27, 2009 Posted February 27, 2009 http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,501325,00.html Early humans had feet like ours and left lasting impressions in the form of 1.5 million-year-old footprints, some of which were made by feet that could wear a size 9 men's shoe. The findings at a Northern Kenya site represent the oldest evidence of modern-human foot anatomy. They also help tell an ancestral story of humans who had fully transitioned from tree-dwellers to land walkers. "In a sense, it's like putting flesh on the bones," said John Harris, an anthropologist with the Koobi Fora Field School of Rutgers University. "The prints are so well preserved." Dr. Shane Posted February 27, 2009 Posted February 27, 2009 Quote: They also help tell an ancestral story of humans who had fully transitioned from tree-dwellers to land walkers. The tree-dwellers were the wicked people that climbed up in trees to escape the rising flood waters. The land-walkers were the ones that walked onto the ark. I was reading an interesting article about how a lot of ancient footprints by animals were running to high ground - as if to escape rising flood waters. While it rained for 40 days and 40 nights many creation scientists believe it may have taken as long as 5 months for the entire surface of the earth to be covered with water. Members phkrause Posted February 28, 2009 Members Posted February 28, 2009 Shane in the book Patriarchs and Prophets, chapter 8, After the Flood, EGW says in the very first paragraph that the boat was tossed for about 5 months than the waters started to subside. pk Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Dr. Shane Posted February 28, 2009 Posted February 28, 2009 I think so many think that the flood just all of a sudden happened in one day. When actually it was probably more like 5 months. So a lot of animals were running around. Interesting they have found dinosaur eggs that have double shells which indicates the mother was holding them inside her too long. Perhaps because she was swimming, climbing to higher grounds and had no nest. Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... Find me at www.PostumCafe.com Author of Peculiar Christianity
GreatLakesGramma Posted February 28, 2009 Posted February 28, 2009 Shane, I don't think it took 5 months for all living creatures to die. The Biblical account, and Sister White's indicate some very violent events. The Bible says, "all the fountains of the great deep were broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened" Genesis 7:11. Have you ever seen the video "Young Age of the Earth"? In it they show a cross-sectional representation of how there were probably large reservoirs of water below the surface, and at the time of the flood, as described in the above verse, the water came shooting up from these reservoirs as well as pouring down from the sky. It would have been a terrifying event, even if one were used to rain. It was the violent upheaval of everything that formed the fossils and fossil fuels. Dying organisms had to be buried quickly and under great pressure to fossilize, instead of just decomposing and disappearing. The crust of the earth was rearranged, with continental land mass being pushed back, forming higher mountain ranges - notice on a map how each mountain range runs roughly parallel to the nearest coastline. In another science video from Moody Bible Institute, it shows how undersea volcanoes are also concentrated in ranges parallel to the coastlines. This also fits the story as represented in "Young Age of the Earth." Quote Catherine God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. Psalm 73:26.
