Economic Crisis - and the future control of buying and selling

I was visiting with a neighbor who had his tv tuned to a news program about the economy. He asked me what I thought about this mess and where it was all heading.

I said "I think it is leading to a financial transition to a system where more control is possible over buying and selling".

I stated that we are living at the end of time -- and one of the things that has to be "possible" at the end is global control of buying and selling. If cash - if normal currency already available today is still the basis for monetary transactions -- then how could you be stopped from "paying cash"?

How would the country store down the road know not to accept cash from you? How could a government audit of that little store know how much cash was taken from person-X vs person-Y?

"Cash is cash" -- when deposited in the bank. It does not require the name of each customer paying cash -- nor even the daily transactions of cash.

I mentioned that Rev 13 points to a time when buying and selling is restricted.

To which he asked "so Bob - what is the mark of the beast"?

Isn't that something, you never know when, why, how people will ask you questions about the Bible. He obviously had some knowledge and needed more info from you. Praise the Lord.

It was a huge challenge given that I did not have "my" Bible on hand. Also in our dicussion - we had not agreed that the Ten Commandments are still valid -- or that the Sabbath is unchanged. (Though he knows I am Adventist).

I had to make the case from Rev 12 and 13 and 2Thess 2 about the man of sin and false worship without getting too far into the Ten Commandment issue. It was helpful that he agreed at the start that "the mark" has to be something morally sinful or else God would not even care about it.

When we got to Daniel 7 - and the judgment - he seemed to light up with a kind of "this chapter makes sense for the first time" response.

Praise God -- I thought the whole thing was going the wrong way for most of that conversation -- but He turned it around at the end.

I think its times like that that when your all done you wonder how you were able to say those things. That's when you realize how great is God. When I hear things like that, I wonder if it will happen to me or will I fall flat.

They have been placing microchips in animals (pets) for some time now and evidently it works well.

They are placing these chips in humans too.

This guy owns about 15 fast food stores in my area - so the closer this subject gets to the importance of the 4th commandment at the end of time -- the closer we are going to come to a real spiritual moment of crisis for this man.

Please pray for us. I don't know how far the Lord will take him in this walk or how much of it God wants me to present.

I have a question for Bob, et al...who think that the current adminstration will set the stage for more controls for buying and selling....

What happens if it doesn't happen? What if all your fears about this adminstration does not come to fruition? What if this adminstration doesn't set that stage but rather gets the economy started again....and by the end of his [assumed] eight year run, is able to repay 1/2 of the 700billion debt? And economic times are much better than now?

What happens to your faith in revelation that seems to indicate that Jesus is coming back soon?

1. I don't think I ever mentioned "the administration".

2. In every age - (Noah, John the baptizer etc) the idea was always presented "yes but what if you are wrong). No news there.

But in this case -- it is pretty clear that buying and selling is free and easy in a cash based system --

Amen brother. God alone knows how this thing is supposed to work out and who is supposed to be there for the reaping. One step at a time -- as you point out.

If/when that time comes, you might keep in mind the ASI group. There are a bunch of successful people there that he could contact for support, who do not open their businesses on Sabbath.

Bob, count me in as another who will pray for you and this man.

I would just encourage you to let him ask the questions, and be ready with an answer. And just remember that if you ask for wisdom from above you will get it, when you need it.

Think of this as you putting the seed in the "ground" and then having to take a step back and not dig it up to see if it is growing. If this seed is going to grow, God will be the one to make it happen. All you can do is wait until it is obvious that it needs "watering", or weeding, or whatever. If the "ground is dry" put some "water" within his reach. Just keep in mind that no one can force a seed to drink, and be sure not to "over water".

That's a real possibility Neil. Not sure about the others here, but because God said that this will happen, even if it does not happen during this administration I KNOW that it will happen someday. There WILL be a crisis and eventually Jesus WILL come back. I hope you are not taking a "wait and see" stance on this issue? By then it may be too late.

But as was said in a post just above, the current administration was not brought up that I know of. What are your thoughts on this Neil? We know that someday people will be saying "Peace and Safety". This seems to indicate that it will appear that things are under control. What will happen next, according to your Bible?
