Preface

There is no good place to start with a subject as controversial as this one. The Seventh-day Adventist version of the Sabbatarian Myth is far more complicated than those of other Sabbath-keeping denominations, primarily because of the Ellen White factor. Perhaps the Adventist version of the myth is like a “draw by number” picture where you connect the dots, but the picture has been so cleverly conceived that you can not tell what object the picture represents until you have connected the very last few dots.

I have chosen not to start with a direct discussion of the Sabbath in regard to the Old versus the New Covenants. These covenants can not possibly be understood without a knowledge of some key biblical concepts which Seventh-day Adventists are told nothing about. Amazingly, these principles are as plain as day once they are all examined together. In this paper I will give you, at any point along the way, as much an explanation of the covenants as I believe can make sense to you at that time. However, by the end of the paper, you will have all the information you need to realize that the Adventist argument that promotes the idea that there are almost no differences between the covenants in practice is forced upon them by an understandable, yet inexcusable survival instinct, as well as a heavy dose of sheer ignorance that is the natural consequence of the Church's information “filter.” If you don't have the correct information, you can't get the right answer. In the world of computers, the concept is “Garbage in. Garbage out.”

Luke 4:19

To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.

I'd hate to be in this guy's shoes.

John 3:16-17

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. [17] For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.
