How are We Born Again

The lack of understanding of how we become born again leads to much confusion in the Christian world concerning those who are saved and those who are not. Am I really saved? Why do I still sin? But as I will show, the reason for this confusion is that the Gospel has been overly complicated by those teachers who claim to understand the good news.

There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews:

The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.

Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?

Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.

The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.

Nicodemus answered and said unto him, How can these things be?

So we must be born of the Water and Spirit but does this mean we must be dunked in the baptimal in front of the sanctuary or does this water symbolize something else?

What is the water?

Matthew 3:11 I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:

Quote:

Ephesians 5:26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,

So the water you were dunked into when baptized is symbolic of the Word of God.

But what is this fire that John says would used to baptize us? He clearly says it is the Holy Spirit.

But look...

1 John 5:7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.

The scriptures says that the Holy Ghost IS the Word of God. Some of your versions of scripture have removed this verse completely from the text.

That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

This passage clearly makes a distinction between your flesh and your born again inward man conceived when you ate the word of God.

The truth shall set you free and when truth from the Word exposes sin, a separation takes place between the new man and the old. The Word circumcises us.

Matthew 24:40 Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.

There are two of you sitting there not one. The one is born of Adam (1John 3:8) and the other is born of God by the Word who cannot sin (1John 3:9)

When you read in John 15:1-3 that anyone who bares not fruit, the moment you ingest those words you are circumcised because the flesh cannot survive these words. When you read a passage that exposes your sin, the cringe feeling of doom you get is the evidence of the circumciision taking place.

Notice verse 3?

John 15:3 Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.

So if it is indeed the word that is baptizing, circumcising, cleaning us, then now who do you think is saved?

Matthew 15:22-28 And, behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou Son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil.

But he answered her not a word. And his disciples came and besought him, saying, Send her away; for she crieth after us.

But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me.

But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children's bread, and to cast it to dogs.

And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters' table.

Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour.

The bread of life, Christ's flesh, is the word of God.

Ecclesiastes 4:15 I considered all the living which walk under the sun, with the second child that shall stand up in his stead.

Romans 9:21 Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour?

Now look at the parting of the Red Sea: Israel (inward man) passes through the waters (Word of God) safely and Egypt (our flesh) is swallowed up.

God knew what he was doing from the beginning for light could mean nothing to us without also knowing darkness.

Luke 17:34 I tell you, in that night there shall be two men in one bed; the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left.

Be still and know that He is God
