Here are some things to review, as outlined in my paper:

1. The Sabbath could not be kept by anyone living in the Jewish community without the head of household being circumcised. The Council of Jerusalem determined that circumcision was not to be required of Christians. Therefore, the Sabbath as a requirement for Christians is impossible.

2. In Hebrew, Moses clearly stated in his account of what happened on the 7th day of Creation that there was no Sabbath commandment implied by what he said. Therefore, it is impossible that the Sabbath was given to anyone except for the Jews.

3. Colossians 2:14-17 is a command, from God, through Paul, that the Sabbath is not to be required of Christians. The result of trying to evade this clear fact has created havoc within the Adventist Church because it is impossible to get around the FACT. Again, we find that the idea that Christians must keep the Sabbath is IMPOSSIBLE.

The Early Church began abandoning Sabbath-keeping prior to 70 AD, had nearly universally abandoned it by 100 AD, and has universally abandoned it by 140 AD. It is impossible that Christians would have done this without biblical authority to do so. The only POSSIBLE explanation is that they followed the commandment of God, given in Colossians 2:14-17, not to require Sabbath-keeping any longer.

Keep this ever before you mind, Luke. You can not believe something just because you want it to be so. No amount of wishing, hoping, and praying will make the Sabbath true, no matter how bad you might want to believe it is true.

Anyone who wishes to believe the Sabbath is part of the New Covenant must disprove everything I wrote in the paper I sent you. This would be IMPOSSIBLE, because there are no possible answers to the FACTS presented there-in.

To prove that the Sabbath started in Eden, for example, you must disprove that Hebrew linguistics do not prove that Moses specially stated, using his own language of Hebrew, that there was no Sabbath commandment implied in his account of the events of the 7th day of Creation, and so on.

Adventists knew the TRUTH about the Sabbath lie prior to 1888, yet have persisted in teaching it, knowing that it was IMPOSSIBLE because it would have disrupted the flow of tithe money into the Church, and there would be no money to support the preachers and their false prophet, Ellen White.

I do hope you will study the paper I sent you very carefully. There is nothing particularly new about what I wrote. Adventists have known it all since 1888. Outside of Adventism, these facts have been known for nearly 2,000 years. The first Christians, in their earliest writings, talk about how they understood that the Sabbath did not begin at Creation.

It is arrogant and just plain stupid that Adventists want to believe that they know more about the Sabbath than the First Christians.

It is my prayer that you will not be deceived by Sabbatarians. Sabbatarianism is impossible, and it cuts deeply into the truth about Grace.

I find it hard to believe that this is "#1"?

How could the customs and traditions of the elders -- specifically condemned by Christ in Mark 7 be considered "OF GOD" such that the people of God can no longer OBSERVE the Sabbath of Creation week? The only way for GOD's LAW to be voided by MAN's tradition is for God to have ADOPTED man's tradition INTO HIS law. Something that Jews claimed that He did -- but I am surprised that Kerry would want to go there.

I also find it "instructive" that Kerry never brings up the arguments of non-Sabbath keeping Bible students like D.L. Moody who all admit that the Sabbath was given to mankind in Eden and CONTINUES unchanged to this very day.

In short - I know why a Jew today would make this particular argument -- I have no idea why a Christian would do it.

In Gen 2:3 Moses clearly points out that ON the 7th day of creation week - that every day was "made Holy" it was "sanctified" it was set apart.

In Ex 20:11 we find that INSTEAD of saying "I NOW sanctify" or "I now make Holy" or I NOW institute - the 7th day -- God says that The Gen 2:3 event ALONE suffices to make the day Holy -- to make the Day sanctified and that anything God sanctifies - becomes obligatory for mankind to honor.

In Mark 2:27 "The Sabbath was MADE for MANKIND not MANKIND made for the Sabbath" speaking to the MAKING of BOTH in Gen 1-2:3.

Soooo many details seem to slip right past Kerry in this -- I am astounded!!
