For instance, there is no need of anointing oil in heaven. The oil represented the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is in heaven, so obviously there is no need of the oil. And so on and so forth. This is all compared to the priest's atoning role of sprinkling 'every year with blood of others'. Christ didn't literally go in the holy place and sprinkle His blood. Of course Jesus did not literally sprinkle blood in the Holy Place. I don't know of anyone who believes He did that. But Christ did literally go to heaven and go into a literal place which is called the heavenly sanctuary where God has His throne. God is a real, literal being, not a metaphor. Heaven is a real place. In that real place, there is a real sanctuary, or temple. Read Daniel 7: 9-10, 13, 14. There is a judgment going on there at this time which involves you and me and all who have made a profession of belief in Christ. True-believer Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 I always thought the heavenly sanctuary was within us... because a number times through the New Testament it states the Kingdom of God is within us... and also when somebody accepts Jesus as their Lord and Savior that Eternal Life and heaven starts there and then and they can experiance the Heavenly Sabbath Rest everyday In Christ... But this is just my thoughts what the Bible says... still pondering.... any suggestions??? Quote Luke 4:19To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.
Moderators John317 Posted April 13, 2009 Moderators Posted April 13, 2009 I always thought the heavenly sanctuary was within us... The Bible teaches that believers are the temple of the Holy Spirit. 1 Cor. 6: 19. The church is also the temple of the Holy Spirit. 1 Cor. 3: 16. While the heavenly sanctuary is cleansed of the record of sin, there's to be a corresponding cleansing of sin among God's people. God wants us to separate sin from ourselves through His grace and power. This is biblical, as clearly taught in Hebrews 9: 23 and James 4: 8. Quote: because a number times through the New Testament it states the Kingdom of God is within us... Yes, the kingdom of God begins in our hearts and lives. That's where Jesus reigns. If Jesus doesn't rule in our lives-- if we don't allow His will to reign in our hearts-- there seems little reason to believe we're serious when we say we want Him to come the second time. Quote: and also when somebody accepts Jesus as their Lord and Savior that Eternal Life and heaven starts there and then and they can experiance the Heavenly Sabbath Rest everyday In Christ... But this is just my thoughts what the Bible says... still pondering.... any suggestions??? That's a wonderful and true thought. I agree. It's what "eternal life" is all about. It's not about "time" but about quality of life in relationship with Christ. It begins now, the moment we truly accept Jesus, as you've said. It may be interrupted by a temporary sleep in the grave, but it will be taken up again at the resurrection, and it won't ever be interrupted again. It will lead us into the complete Sabbath rest that God promised us in chapters such as Heb. 4. Quote John 3:16-17 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. [17] For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.
True-believer Posted April 22, 2009 Posted April 22, 2009 How can we be absolutely sure that where it states "in the heavens" in Hebrews, it isn't referring to us, meaning: now. ????????? Quote Luke 4:19To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.
