It is made up of Bishops delegated by the Catholic Bishops' Conferences of the European Union and it has a permanent Secretariat in Brussels) the Protestant Church in Germany (EKD) and the Church of England welcome the initiative of several Members of the European Parliament, to ask the House to decide on a Written Declaration “on the protection of a work-free Sunday as an essential pillar of the European Social Model and as part of the European cultural heritage”. Such a declaration would constitute an important commitment to a “Social Europe”. It is now important to find the majority necessary for this cross-party resolution, which has been launched by five parliamentarians – from the political groups of EPP, PSE, ALDE and UEN – on 2 February 2009. They say: The economic and financial crises have made us more aware of the fact that not all aspects of life can be subject to market forces. Unrestrained consumption is neither a model for a sustainable economy, nor a healthy concept for human development. Men and women, who work on Sundays, are put at a disadvantage in their social relationships: Their family life, personal development and even health are verifiably affected. A part of the European cultural heritage of longstanding tradition and high value, the work-free Sunday is a decisive factor in balancing work and family life. It is of fundamental importance for family relations, but also for social and cultural life to safeguard one of the few remaining times which can be shared by children and their parents. According to EU law, Sunday is the weekly rest day for children and adolescents (1). That is why respect for Sunday rest has the potential to be a pillar of the European social model. In recent years, the protection of Sunday has been eroded in many Member States, with the purpose of increasing production and consumption. Workers have experienced fragmentation of their private lives, while small and medium-sized enterprises, which cannot afford uninterrupted opening hours have lost ground in the market place. Accordingly this declaration now introduced into parliament calls on the Member States and on the EU institutions to “protect Sunday, as a weekly rest day, in forthcoming national and EU working-time legislation in order to enhance the protection of workers' health and the reconciliation of work and family life”. In order to be adopted, it is now necessary for the Written Declaration to be signed by a majority (394) of MEPs before 7 May 2009. The written Declaration is proposed by five Parliament members, and they want to have a protection of a working-free Sunday as an essential pillar of the European Social Model and a part of the Europoean cultural heritage. Here you have the essence of the text, point 1: ”The European Parliament calls on the Member States and the EU institutions to protect Sunday, as a weekly rest day, in forthcoming national and EU working-time legislation in order to enhance the protection of workers’ health and the reconciliation of work and family life.” Commentary: This law is only the first of more Sunday-laws coming. This law says that they will have more national and EU working-time legislature. They use the argument that they will make more laws in order to protect the workers health and family life. So more Sunday-laws will come. More Sunday-laws will protect Sunday as a day of rest. This is the first step in order to introduce the mark of the beast. Notice that EU will PROTECT SUNDAY AS THE WEEKLY DAY OF REST. Here it is the State that makes religious laws. The State shouldn’t be allowed to decide by law or force which day we shall keep as the rest day. For all those who have the Biblical rest day, the sabbath, as a normal rest day, this declaration will be a strait jacket. We understand this suggestion for those who keep Sunday holy, for today people work just as much on Sunday as all other days. But if you shall give an edge to the rest day first of all, you ought to consider the Biblical rest day. According to the Bible Sunday is the first day of the week and the Sabbath, Saturday, is the seventh day of the week. (Exodus 2:1-3 and Luke 24:1-6). This declaration together with other restrict Sunday laws that are coming, will mean that you can not follow your own conscience, but will be forced to follow the dictations of the State. We also pay attention to that the declaration says clearly that EU will protect Sunday as a rest day. How does the EU protect its own laws? Yes, they punish those who break the law. The punishment will come as a result of the one who breaks the Sunday law. This remind us strongly of how the Catholic Church treated those adhering to other creeds in the Middle Ages, and as the Bible says will happen in the end of time. The Bible proclaims that the one will not worship the beast and accept its mark, will not be allowed to buy or sell and in the end will be ordered to be killed. If you are not loyal to social and religious man prodused laws, you will be punished. The punishment is that you are not allowed to buy or sell. This will soon be controlled through the ID-cards that comes to the whole world. When the government starts to enforce and punish those who do not keep Sunday as a rest day, then ”the mark of the beast” is a fact. . (Revelation, chapter 13, verses 15-16). In the USA they also work with the introduction of making Sunday as a national rest day. The greatest religious movement in the USA, the Christian Coalition, work with the Sunday rest as their objective. They have this in their working-program as point number 7 out of ten.The biblical prophecies tells us that it is the USA in cooperation with the Vatican who will introduce the mark of the beast, and then the other countries will follow their instructions. (Revelation 13:11-16). It is also noteworthy that the EU-representatives forward this law as a social law,. In that way they try to hide that the suggested law has to do with religion. In this connection it is also interesting to notice that pope Benedict XVI says that ”we can not live without Sunday.” He also says that it is a duty for us to keep the Sunday holy, and that EU ought to keep Sunday as a rest day, and that this should be a law for all people in the EU. In this way the pope gives signals to all people in Europe and the world that he does not respect that each person in this earth has a free will to worship God after his or her own conscience. Every man and woman has a free will and right to follow their own conscience when it comes to religious matters. If EU now will pass this declaration and other Sunday-laws that soon will come - that Sunday will be a public rest day for everybody, then they will press forward a change of lifestyle within the people in EU, whether they like it or not. This will lead to a Europe that press forward a State religion – Catholicism, which is supported by apostate protestantism. Then we surely will experience a mighty Vatican-European allied superpower. To enforce a Sunday-restday by law will be the same as to introduce the mark of authority of the Catholics, namely Sunday as the rest day. The Church will then get help from the State to introduce loyalty and worship of a man-made catholic and apostate protestant Sunday as a day of rest. If this declaration will be passed, it will be a law for all countries within EU and all citizens. Then our religious freedom will be in danger! Woody Posted March 8, 2009 Posted March 8, 2009 I didn't read all of this ... but it sounds like a good idea if they would also allow Saturday ... I think having a day of rest is good even if it isn't Saturday. Of course I would not agree with it if they forced everyone to do it.And then I would not agree with forcing everyone to rest on Saturday. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. From the humanist viewpoint, it looks like a grand idea, and anyone who opposes it will look like an enemy of humanity. What possible reason could anyone have for being against such a great idea? It will look the same way in the US when that time comes.
