Cosmin M. Posted March 8, 2009 Posted March 8, 2009 I pondered on this last night before I fell asleep in bed. Do you guys realize that maybe just maybe EGW might have had her own opinion in something because it was sorely her opinion and not Gods? Well maybe some of the things she said was her opinion and not Gods word. Still don't believe me? Remember when David was king and he asked his prophets if he could build a huge temple for God? Every one started saying yes, that's a good idea. Then Nathan had to carry his poor self to tell David that God did not say so. See? Get my point? Awaiting opinions. Quote
SivartM Posted March 8, 2009 Posted March 8, 2009 I think if it was important God probably corrected her, like He did with Nathan... But you're probably right. :) Quote "Always forgive your enemies; nothing annoys them so much." - Oscar WildeDo to others whatever you would like them to do to you. This is the essence of all that is taught in the law and the prophets." - Jesus
Woody Posted March 8, 2009 Posted March 8, 2009 There are many more millions of words that EGW wrote compared to any other prophet ... thus we have to filter them according to scripture which is what she told us to do. Well maybe some of the things she said was her opinion and not Gods word. Of course. That's a well-known fact, or it should be to anyone who really reads her books. When the seventh-day Sabbath was first brought to the attention of the church, she and her husband opposed it. Same thing happened when someone started promoting the observance of the clean/unclean meats distinctions. Quote Catherine God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. Psalm 73:26.
