Suffering of Christ?

I am currently quickly reading through the book Winged Life by Hannah Hurnard.

I know that she is big on the virtues of suffering in this world, but in here she goes into some length about how Jesus must be suffering, being both omnipresent and cognizant of all the world's suffering.

She says that, "Suffering is the anguished sympathy of love."

Does she teach that Jesus is omnipresent? The Holy Spirit is omnipresent, but Jesus Christ Himself continues forever in the flesh, in a human body. 2 John 7. He's in the Most Holy Place with the Father.

But I do agree that Jesus is aware of all of the suffering in the world, not only of people but of all the animals that suffer because of the Fall. I'm sure He's "anxious" for there to be an end to it.

You hit the nail on the head, John317! She also mentions about Jesus being "is conscious of himself present in all men" and "has chosen to extend his own consciousness into us all".

I've always enjoyed "Hind's Feet on High Places" over the years, but there are some statements in this one that raise an eyebrow.

In this one she also talks about the oneness that Jesus talks about in John 17. She says that as we get closer to God that we will also desire oneness not only with all men but with all of God's creatures. I don't know if I can go that far.
