Stan Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 A lawyers' group has asked the RCMP to bar former U.S. president George W. Bush from entering Canada, citing torture and war crimes committed in Iraq, Afghanistan and Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. Source Somedays you just never know what you are going to read on the news sites... Woody Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 So .... why trash a good man by repeating the gossip? Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
Members phkrause Posted March 12, 2009 Members Posted March 12, 2009 I think that that's sick! Not saying that to you Stan, just to the article. You know lots of people agreed with lots of things that GWB did, and yes there were those that disagreed with things he did. But that goes for any President. I'm not sure how I feel about what went on at guantanamo, but I do know that what they got out of some of these terrorists helped to thwart many acts of violence around the world. pk Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Proverbs 29;2
fccool Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 PK, I'm sure you'd feel very different about this issue if you've done absolutely nothing, and your private parts were repeatedly cut to make you "crack" and say that you did. And, I'm sure you'd feel pretty different about the top guy who said it was ok to do that type of stuff in the name of "freedom", "security", and "peace". Quote

Members phkrause Posted March 12, 2009 Members Posted March 12, 2009 You're probably right. But my point would be, that this has been going on for years, and I mean for years, and no one has cried a peep. But since we don't like GWB, now we complain. I don't think that that is right. pk Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Proverbs 29;2
carolaa Posted March 13, 2009 Posted March 13, 2009 It gives you a little idea of what the rest of the world thinks of GW and the U.S. And they are not just repeating gossip. They are not stupid. Quote
Members phkrause Posted March 13, 2009 Members Posted March 13, 2009 I have a very good idea of what the rest of the world thinks of the US no matter who is president. I spent some time in Germany, when I was in the military, during the Vietnam conflict. I visited with relatives and they told me exactly what they thought of the US, and it wasn't pretty. The interesting thing is alot of countries say they hate us but than turn around and beg us to help them. pk Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. carolaa Posted March 13, 2009 Posted March 13, 2009 I suppose someone in dire straights would be willing to ask anyone for help, even if it was their worst enemy. And they would be willing to comply with all the nasty strings attached. Wouldn't it be nice if we were willing to play nice with others so that people would respect us instead of hating us? Quote
