Lima, Peru Mission Trip

Recommended Posts

Posted

My daughter and about 20 other people left Lincoln, Neb. and arrived in Lima on March 12th at about 11PM, then flew out again at about 4:30AM to go on to the air base. They are planning to be there about 10 days and do some repair work on our base there.

Have not heard anything about what has happened after that. Does anyone know any other details? Is there even cell phone service at that air base? (I kind of doubt it.)

Why is it that it never really rains in Lima? (They don't have storms or anything like that. They do get a daily mist, evidently much like what the Garden of Eden must have had.)

Please pray for all those who are giving so much of themselves to help others.

I spoke to Micheal Paradise the youth director for Kansas-Nebraska conference on Thursday. He is leading the trip. He thought he might be available by e-mail while there. Don't know if that helps you any or not.

Is this just like an out in the wilds landing strip or military base? If it's military, I would think it should have all types of communication devices. Isn't "no news is good news"?

Usually no news is a good thing, but this dad gets a little overly concerned when he doesn't know what is going on.

Just heard from her by internet phone about an hour ago. It was raining were she is, which I guess is good because she is sun-burnt already.

Not sure if this was once a military base or what, but is is all SDA right now I think.

Curly, thanks for the name of he youth director who is leading the trip. I just sent him an email hoping he will be able to get it.

Thanks everyone.
