Last Sabbath......

Last Sabbath, I heard Lyle Norton, a Chiropractor speak from his book "Shaking of the Heavens".....

He stated that there was a star, than unendated the earth with a shower of light/gravitational pull that caused the Tsumommi 2004 Earthquake. What is stated, as best that I can recall, is that a pulsar thru out so much energy that it cause some tetonic plates to be shifted by things underneath the earth...

He has a book out called "Shaking Heaven & Earth: The Tsunami Earthquake Prophecies ". I have not read the book, but there are some definate claims being made with the book...

Anyone know this man? He used to live in Washington [where, I am not sure.] He moved to Oregon, to a little church but apparently active church that I have beenn attending...

What I want to know is the following- What/how much gravitational pull from a star would cause the tetonic plates to shift and cause an earthquake? Would such a pull cause other problems as well on the earth? And has anyone reviewed the book?

No. But it sounds pretty wild.

Perhaps he should keep to crackin' bones rather than crackin' tetonic plates.

The above is the book that he has authored, and I will admit that I may not have recounted it correctly....wish I could get the book without having to buy the darned thing...

It feels a bit not good because it's someone's understanding of prophecy...and that is always dicey....

it could be a great book to read...

My junior astronomer says that it would be impossible, because stars are simply to far away to do anything to us. And the pulsars, are even farther away and we can only get a little beep from them.

Consider the moon and the Sun, and the effect they have on the seas (high tide, low tide, neap tide etc), and their distance from Earth.

For a star to be able to effect something like that (high tide etc) on our planet, its gravitational field must be powerful enough to reach across lightyears of space - and in the process destroying/moving other planets within its reach as well.

Not to mention being able to move the Earth's crust around.

Tectonic plates shift all of the time.

Colliding tectonic plates can create ruptures in the earth's crust.

These ruptures can cause violent earthquakes.

Violent earthquakes can cause tsunamis.

There *are* such things as star quakes that can affect the earth: star quakes

If we all sang the same note in the choir, there'd never be any harmony.

Funny, isn't it, how we accept Grace for ourselves and demand justice for others?

Neat!

The Biggest Starquake Ever

This is near the frequency of the 22nd key of a piano, F sharp," said Tomaso Belloni from Italy's National Institute of Astrophysics.

Just as geologists study the Earth's interior using seismic waves after an earthquake, astrophysicists can use the X-ray oscillations to probe this distant neutron star.

"This explosion was akin to hitting the neutron star with a gigantic hammer, causing it to ring like a bell," said Richard Rothschild from the University of California, San Diego. "Now the question is: what does the frequency of the neutron star's oscillations -- the tone produced by the ringing bell -- mean?"

I don't know anything about this guy and I haven't read his book so I can't comment on his actual theories...it's possible that they have merit.

But I can't help noticing how often people become experts in areas that are not their field of expertise.

A chiropractor writing books about astronomy and geology...

A medical doctor waxing eloquent about theology...

Often seeing lectures on health advertised as being from "Dr. X" - and on doing a bit more research, wondering why I don't know Dr X from medical activities, and finding out he/she actually has a doctorate in economics, dentistry or education...

Do we become passionate about extra-curricular areas of interest, and do these "hobbies" take on extra interest because we don't have to do this for work and we are pursuing it because we want to?

I have to go now - I have some music history and theory to delve into. TU

Good Point Aldona. This was exactly what I was thinking.

Its Tsunami. There are many people who speculate what caused it.
