Some of you know that one of my uncles (in real life) is dying of cancer. He has never been a "religious" type of person and has never gone to church, except for weddings and funerals.

So my mom (his sister) was talking to him the other day and at the end of the conversation he asks her to pray for him.

This weighed heavily on my mom's heart, and she wondered if maybe he would be open to listening about the love of Jesus. So the next day she called him up and carefully broached the subject. He desperately wanted to hear everything she had to say, at the end of the conversation he asked Jesus to forgive him of all his sins and asked Jesus to come into his heart--my mom led him in prayer.

We are still bummed because he is dying, we are feeling sorry for ourselves because we won't have him around, but now we all have hope that we will see him again.

Mom said she is sad and happy at the same time, but she is more happy than sad right now.

How wonderful is that????

I just read this now...

How comforting this must have been to your heart, knowing this when he finally breathed his last.

Praise God!

Yes, praise the Lord indeed!

I did the same for my mother-in-law on her death-bed from cancer. She confessed Jesus on her death-bed before she breathed her last. She was never known for being religious either.
