Kountzer Posted March 28, 2009 Posted March 28, 2009 I watched this on youtube last night. All I can say is Wow! I've heard similar stuff from other sources, like Jan Marcusson's lecture here a few years ago. I kept an open mind then, and now I am even more receptive to believing this is all true. carolaa Posted March 29, 2009 Posted March 29, 2009 Phooey, my speakers have been borrowed for the weekend so I can't listen. But I thought the Muslims had no respect for Catholics because they supposedly made so many changes to the Bible. (i.e., whatever Muslims don't agree with in the Bible, it's because the Catholics put it there and it wasn't in there originally) Quote

Amelia Posted March 29, 2009 Posted March 29, 2009 D, that was awesome. Thank you for posting it here. I got quite alot out of all that information. You might even say, it was illuminating. :) Quote <p><span style="color:#0000FF;"><span style="font-weight:bold;"><span style="font-style:italic;">"Do not use harmful words, but only helpful words, the kind that build up and provide what is needed, so that what you say will do good to those who hear you."</span></span> Eph 4:29</span><br><br><img src="http://banners.wunderground.com/weathersticker/gizmotimetemp_both/US/OR/Fairview.gif" alt="Fairview.gif"> Fairview Or</p>

Moderators antcreations Posted April 5, 2009 Moderators Posted April 5, 2009 several years ago we did a "contextualized" Bible-Qur'an Seminar: we presented the Adventist doctrines to focus more on Judgement and Prophesy - it was a 18 night seminar series with mostly muslims and imams (muslim teachers) in the crowd - and we held it in a islamic/muslim city. every time our speaker/teacher mentions the catholic church and the beast in the same sentence, people would be shouting "ALLAH O AKBAR!!!" same goes with the catholic church and judgment in the same sentence. walter should stick with creation. Members phkrause Posted April 5, 2009 Members Posted April 5, 2009 Hi antcreations, where did you have this 18 night seminar? and what did they mean when they said "Allah O Akbar" when the speaker mentioned the CC and the beast in the same sentence? I'm curious! Thanks for the info. pk Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Proverbs 29;2
Moderators antcreations Posted April 5, 2009 Moderators Posted April 5, 2009 it would be best for me not to say where the seminar took place. you can check this thread for my involvement: http://clubadventist.com/forum/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=45029 i have the studies (Ayat Allah) in print to reach our fellow brothers in the islam faith. the studies are also available online: http://www.ayatallah.net/index.html Dr. Jon Paulien has awesome resources as well. the Islam faith is huge in the studies of judgment, prophecy and the law. i guess it wouldn't take a genius to figure out where the adventist belief can line up. Allah O Akbar = God is Great! Quote http://antcreations.com http://www.flickr.com/photos/antcreations/
Members phkrause Posted April 5, 2009 Members Posted April 5, 2009 Thanks for the info. I kind of knew that "Allah O Akbar = God is Great!". But why would they say that when people mentioned the Catholic Church. I can understand if someone would mention God. My wife has a cousin who's married to John McGhee, who has worked with Muslims for many years. Have you ever heard of him. His parents were missionary's to Pakistan, and he was born there. So he has always had a burden for muslims. When he and his wife lived with us we used to have conversations about what muslims and SDAs had in common. And also what Jews and Muslims had in common. pk Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Proverbs 29;2

So I listened a lot. pk Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Proverbs 29;2
melvin mccarty Posted April 6, 2009 Posted April 6, 2009 Mel and Red, I take it you don't agree with Mr. Veith, eh? That's correct for me Amelia. He could fit in with "Amazing Facts" which are long on "amazing" and sometimes short on "facts".......mel Quote
Kountzer Posted April 6, 2009 Author Posted April 6, 2009 WJ Veith has an interesting theory. It is a lot more credible than the popular 'left behind' series. If it is true it answers a lot of questions. He's not the only one saying this stuff. There are a lot of secular, non adventists who are saying the same thing. I doubt if they will be teaching this stuff in the sabbath school quarterlies any time soon. Still, it is something to keep an eye on. Moderators antcreations Posted April 6, 2009 Moderators Posted April 6, 2009 yes. i know John McGhee - used to work with him back in 1999. i can't speak for our muslim brothers and sisters - but their animosity towards the catholic church runs deep - so when our presenter mentions that RC church (and its minions) will be judged in the end-time, the praises ring (kinda like an amen for us christians). the subject of the remnant in Revelation also interests them a lot.
