Dottie Posted March 28, 2009 Posted March 28, 2009 Maybe they could have the students do about 10 jumping jacks; anyone whose pants fell down would get suspenders!! Quote
Neil D Posted March 29, 2009 Posted March 29, 2009 I believe this "Pull up your pants day" coincides with "Just say no to crack" day.... Quote Democracy is a device that ensures we shall be governed no better than we deserve. George Bernard Shaw

Outta Here Posted March 29, 2009 Posted March 29, 2009 Oh, I dunno. I think the new pants style is a great aide! The style originated in prisons as a way of advertising sexual availability. From there, it has carried into the streets of America. It doesn't carry the same message, per se. However, it certainly conveys a message to those who have to view it. For me and my house, it serves as a warning: Stay away--stay far, far away. Quote

Members rudywoofs (Pam) Posted March 29, 2009 Members Posted March 29, 2009 I always wondered how in the world someone could run when the crotch of their pants was down to their knees.... Quote Pam Meddle Not In the Affairs of Dragons; for You Are Crunchy and Taste Good with Ketchup. If we all sang the same note in the choir, there'd never be any harmony. Funny, isn't it, how we accept Grace for ourselves and demand justice for others?
Moderators Bravus Posted March 29, 2009 Moderators Posted March 29, 2009 I think there have been a couple of stories of robbers being caught exactly that way. Quote Truth is important
Dottie Posted March 29, 2009 Posted March 29, 2009 I remember seeing a boy running across the six-lane highway in a rather ungainly manner while trying to hold up his pants with one hand!! Very funny. . . Quote
Amelia Posted March 29, 2009 Author Posted March 29, 2009 LOL I've seen men, young and older, holding their pants up when running, like girls hold up their skirts for the same reason. Kountzer Posted March 30, 2009 Posted March 30, 2009 I don't understand the psychology of it all, other than it (sagging pants that show butt cracks) is a sign of the times. Young women do it also; it is like a sex symbol thing. Madison avenue uses allure to sell everything: cars, toothpaste, you name it. I can remember 30 years ago, or so, when I was a youth. Young people, many from affluent back grounds, were dropping acid, peyote, weed, and other mind altering drugs. The more their parents loathed these types of activities, the more popular they becasme with the young people. Most of the people who frequent this message board are old, at least middle aged. the young people don't want to have anything in common with you, or me either. I personally don't like the style either. I realize that is part of the reason that sagging pants are popular. They, the youth, don't want me to like it I just thought of something else. Sagging pants may also have something to do with the gang dance/prance, called the C walk. Just a thought. DB Quote I prayed for twenty years but received no answer until I prayed with my legs.
