Gus Foster Posted April 2, 2009 Posted April 2, 2009 It is virtually impossible to imagine life as we presently know it without death. Nature panoramas every form of life existing from the death of another. One can picture a large fish chasing a smaller one and that one a smaller one and so on. Carnivorous beasts survive on the killing and eating of defenseless, herbivorous creatures. Spiders live on prey; as do numberless other creatures. On many threads we have discussed evolution, adaptation, pre-historic beasts as well as amalgamation described in EG White's Spiritual Gifts, Vol 3, pages 64 and 75. It strains our minds how our Creator would create life surviving from the death of another. We love the vision of Isaiah (11:6-8; 65:25) where all animals co-exist peacefully with each other. We thrill with knowledge that we live through the death of our God, Jesus Christ. Even now, we are witnessing the resurrection of Spring time. What will eternity be like without any death? Will seeds die to spring forth fruit? It may well be that our sinful, natural minds cannot fathom this scenario. It is my prayer that this Passover season renews our hope, faith and trust in the coming new life without any reminiscence of pain, sorrow and death. Moderators Gerr Posted April 2, 2009 Moderators Posted April 2, 2009 I have no problem imagining a life without end. It is the life without a beginning that boggles my mind. Quote
