In your opinion when was/is the Midnight cry? Could it be more than one place in history? Yes. One occurred in 1843, 1844 when quite a few people around the world preached that Jesus would come soon. In the US, they preached He would come Oct. 22, 1844. He did come but not to the earth. The primary reference of the passage in Matthew is to the announcement that Christ is coming, which will be given shortly before He actually does come the second time. As in the parable, there will be many at that time who won't have their lamps trimmed or have sufficient oil (Holy Spirit). Quote John 3:16-17 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. [17] For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.
Joe_in_RP Posted April 12, 2009 Author Posted April 12, 2009 Interesting. Doug what do you think the spiritual Midnight cry is? Quote
Joe_in_RP Posted April 12, 2009 Author Posted April 12, 2009 John, do you think it will be a specific time the second time? Or could it be different for different people? How is this tied into the investigative judgment? Quote
