Woody Posted April 11, 2009 Posted April 11, 2009 Okay. I know we have talked about this before ... But there is simply no greater Vegan Vege Food than Cedar Lake's Terkettes. Am I the only one who has such an appreciation for Terkettes? Perhaps I should start up a Terkettes Fan Club. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Members phkrause Posted April 11, 2009 Members Posted April 11, 2009 Are they like scallops made by worthington? I know that I tend to like cedar lakes and the others more than the worthington brand. Worthington and Loma Linda stuff always had many additives in them.pk Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Key Guy Posted April 11, 2009 Posted April 11, 2009 Cedar Lake has more vegan products than the big name veggie folks. Count me as a fan. Quote

There is no comparison. We never buy Scallops anymore. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.

Key Guy Posted April 11, 2009 Posted April 11, 2009 Have you heard of Companion (www.evercompanion.com)? They make these gluten-based veggie meats in small cans that are so tasty, they are delicacies to me: Mun-Cha'i-Ya (Peking vegetarian roast duck) Cha'i Pow Yu (braised gluten) Curry Cha'i Pow Yu Mmmmmmm.....M! Members phkrause Posted April 11, 2009 Members Posted April 11, 2009 Don't they sell those are the ABC? If I'm not mistaken I think they have them here at this ABC. pk Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Proverbs 29;2
Woody Posted April 11, 2009 Author Posted April 11, 2009 Do you have to get them from China or is there a US distributor? Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
Key Guy Posted April 12, 2009 Posted April 12, 2009 Companion products are available at some ABC's and many (most?) oriental food stores. Quote
Planey Posted April 12, 2009 Posted April 12, 2009 I have always been of the opinion that no matter how well Worthington, Cedar Lakes, Loma Linda, Sanitarium etc proceed to process vegetarian products until they have the taste and texture of meat, chicken, fish and so on, they will never do as good a job as cows, sheep, chickens, ducks, salmon, etc etc. Graeme Quote Graeme____________________________________________________________________________________________________________

However, our tastes and appetites have become so corrupted that we greatly desire meat (dead flesh) or something that tastes and chews like it. We have gotten so far away from the original raw food diet of fresh fruits/veggies/nuts/grains that untold hours of R&D have gone into processing food to look, feel and taste like meat. Are veggie meats any better for us than the real thing? That's open to debate. I know that if I eat a veggie bratwurst, it had better be for lunch 'cause it takes forever to digest and the hours between supper and bedtime don't cut it. I think Mrs. KeyGuy is getting to the tipping point and we'll be doing much more raw foods in the very near future. Quote

Moderators Gerr Posted April 12, 2009 Moderators Posted April 12, 2009 Food processed in & from China? After all the scandals on tainted milk, dog food, and ersatz antibiotics, I wouldn't dare consume any. Quote
Members phkrause Posted April 12, 2009 Members Posted April 12, 2009 KeyGuy like I mentioned above, I do believe that the ABC here sells that product. Good stuff. pk Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Proverbs 29;2

Good Point. I think I will avoid them there foods. After all .... the benefits of being Vegan would be outweighed by all the poison. And I have never been fond of Veganized Poison. As a meat eater I can honestly say that they are the closest thing to a beef weiner I've ever tasted. I've always been a big fan of the Grillers. Gonna have some tonight as burgers I believe. Dislike anythin with carob in it, though. I believe that along with mosquitos, carob was a result of sin. Quote www.corbel.theacaistory.com
Members phkrause Posted April 12, 2009 Members Posted April 12, 2009 I think I understand what your saying. For me I don't eat the cedar lakes or any of the others because there suppose to taste like chicken, turkey, hotdogs, etc. I eat them for themselves and because they taste good and the body digests them better. But as far as carob is concerned, its definitely an acquired taste. It's definitely not because of sin, haha, it has so much nutritional value over chocolate its not funny. And you are talking to one of the biggest chocolate lovers on the face of the earth. On 3ABN they have this show called "Abundant Living" and they made this carob pie, that I have made a few times now, that they use some ingrediate's that are suppose to hide the taste of the carob. I can still taste the carob, even thou its not as bad. pk Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Proverbs 29;2
