True-believer Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 Luke: It is good news that I misunderstood your message. I maintain friendships with several Seventh-day Adventist friends myself. I have nothing against Adventist individuals. You asked, what has the SDA Church ever done to me. Basically, Luke, if you read my paper, you understand that Adventist leadership has known even prior to 1888 that its Sabbath doctrine was wrong. It has known since no later than 1919 that Ellen G. White was a fraud. The SDA Church has collected billions of dollars from innocent, unsuspecting church members with its false doctrine of tithing, EGW and the Sabbath. They have stolen perhaps $300,000 from me, who paid tithes and offerings based on the deceptions I have outlined. My money has been fraudulently obtained, squandered by SDA leadership (e.g. Davenport Scandal and others) and used to deliberately and knowingly deceive millions of people with a false account of how the Roman Catholic Church "changed the day." Telling the TRUTH about the Sabbath would stop the money from flowing into the coffers of the church. My problem is with the Adventist institution-- not with its members. If the Holy Spirit is working on my heart, my anger is transformed into righteous indignation, rather than hatred, and I pray that this is the case. At the same time, knowing the SDA Church is stealing money in the name of God, I have some personal responsibility to warn others and to help stop the robbery. This is an extreme way of looking at it, Luke, but it is the truth. Perhaps you can be a witness to your Adventist friends and help them to understand the Gospel. God bless! Kerry Quote Luke 4:19To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.

It is taught by every mainstream bible church including baptist. Quote: They have stolen perhaps $300,000 from me, So that means he has earned 3 million over the years? Quote
guibox Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 Kerry apparently hasn't read the 1919 discussion very closely. This committee wasn't exposing EGW as a fraud at all. Where did he get this from?? AG Daniells and WW Prescott were trying to overcome the incorrect view and application of Sister White's writings that was permeating the church. AG Daniells harped constantly through the whole thing that he didn't want to give the impression that he was tearing down EGW or not believing in her. He wholeheartedly believed in her inspiration. Daniells took alot of flak from some of the conservatives to the point that he was lost the election in 1922. The traditionalists buried the minutes because of their narrow view of EGW. The conclusion the committee came to, which is the correct way to view the inspiration of EGW was: EGW was not a historian, theologian or infallible exegeter of scripture. She was a product of her time and way of thinking and used other people to get some of her ideas. Her role as a NT prophet was to be a messenger of God, guiding the church in times of struggle and need, and to uplift and edify the body of Christ. She was an inspired messenger of God but not an infallible formulator and enforcer of theology or doctrine. These discussion minutes can be found here. http://www.sdanet.org/atissue/books/1919bc/0730-1919bc.htm (Part I) http://www.sdanet.org/atissue/books/1919bc/0801-1919bc.htm (Part II) I encourage all of you to read them for yourselves. Don't take the exaggerated and erroneous views of a bitter former-SDA who's objectivity is obviously compromised by his experience. It was a real eye opener to realize that many of our pioneers held to the same views that Bacchiocchi and Graeme Bradford in his book 'More Than a Prophet' believed. Quote www.corbel.theacaistory.com
Taylor Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 All we each can do is to study for ourselves. The doctrines the SDA church teach are straight from the Bible and there are many who have discovered those same truths without having ever heard of Adventism. No matter what accusations come around, we can stand firm, knowing that whie our church isn't perfect, the God of the Bible and his Word are reliable and we have no teaching to be ashamed of. Quote

Kerry actually makes no point at all in the OP -- just empty vaccuous accusation after unsupported factless accusation. Why does this thread even exist? Kerry is free to have his own opinions and to avoid providing any substantive facts as he so chooses. Why bother with him on that point? It is a "feelings" argument of the form "I feel angry because I feel SDAs know their Sabbath doctrine is wrong". There is no Bible case made there at all. in Christ, Bob Quote John 8:32 - The Truth will make you free“The righteousness of Christ will not cover one cherished sin." COL 316.
