Asheville – A 14-year-old boy suffered serious injuries after he fell into a window well tonight.

Firefighters responded about 7:15 p.m. to Foster Memorial Seventh Day Adventist Church, 375 Hendersonville Road, Asheville Fire and Rescue Capt. Doug Zuendt said. The boy fell about 12 feet onto concrete. He was semi-conscious when firefighters arrived, Zuendt said.

Firefighters had to remove the window to rescue the boy and carried him from the scene on a backboard, Zuendt said. He was taken to Mission Hospital.
