Members phkrause Posted April 23, 2009 Members Posted April 23, 2009 I checked with the SDA Bible Commentary Dictionary and it didn't even mention that Jesus was the Archangel Michael. Now I have heard that many times. But maybe someone else has more info of that. pk Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Proverbs 29;2

Dr. Shane Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 Michael fights with "His" angels: And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels going forth to war with the dragon; and the dragon warred and his angels (Rev. 12:7) Jesus witnessed Satan's fall: And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven. (Luke 10:18) Michael as the archangel, says "The Lord rebuke thee": But Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing judgment, but said, The Lord rebuke thee. (Jude 9) Jehovah says, "Jehovah rebuke thee": And Jehovah said unto Satan, Jehovah rebuke thee, O Satan; yea, Jehovah that hath chosen Jerusalem rebuke thee: is not this a brand plucked out of the fire? (Zechariah 3:2) Jehovah is called an angel: And the angel of Jehovah appeared unto him, and said unto him, Jehovah is with thee, thou mighty man of valor... And Jehovah looked upon him, and said, Go in this thy might, and save Israel... (Judges 6:12, 14) Jacob referred to his Redeemer as an angel: And he blessed Joseph, and said, The God before whom my fathers Abraham and Isaac did walk, the God who hath fed me all my life long unto this day, the angel who hath redeemed me from all evil (Genesis 48:15, 16) The Lord has the voice of the Archangel: For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven, with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God (1 Thessalonians 4:16) Micheal is the Great Prince: And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince who standeth for the children of thy people (Daniel 12:1) The margin says Michael is the first of the chief princes: Michael, [first] of the chief princes (Daniel 10:13) Jesus is a Prince: Him hath God exalted with his right hand to be a Prince and a Saviour (Acts 5:31) Jesus is the Prince of peace: For unto us a child is born... and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counseller, The mighty God, the everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. (Isaiah 9:6) What we know about Micheal: He is an archangel, Chief Prince, told Satan "the Lord rebuke thee" and was at war with the devil in heaven. What we know about Jesus: He has been referred to as an Angel, He is the Prince of peace, told Satan "Jehovah rebuke thee", speaks with the voice of the Archangel and witnessed Satan fall from heaven. The two seem to have a lot in common. Probably the same person. Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... Find me at www.PostumCafe.com Author of Peculiar Christianity
