Administrators Gail Posted April 26, 2009 Administrators Posted April 26, 2009 My daughter-in-law has it rough right now. Her company, based in Vancouver, has put her in charge of their Swiss operations. The trouble is that the workers there seem unmanageable. It has proved a real challenge for her. And she is as bright as a whip! She is sad that she has spent about half of the last year away from her husband, spending time trying to reform an office that nobody else seems to be able to do. She seems very good natured about it but I know it is getting her down. They are supposed to be speaking English in the office but they talk about her in other languages that she cannot understand (French, Italian or German). They are insubordinate. Cultural differences could play a part, especially since men in those cultures do not take kindly to a woman giving them their tasks. They rebel against her. My son will join her through the summer for 2 months, which will hopefully make things more liveable for her. I would like to pray that the Holy Spirit can make a difference in that office. Quote Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.
Woody Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 Gail. As a Swiss/Swedish American ... I am sorry to hear this and apologize for all Swiss people. Seriously ... I will pray for success in this regard. Is there even one worker that she could seek advice and help from? Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.

I'm not sure if there is anyone there. She stays up late in order to breach the time zones to call the superiors here in Vancouver.
