Why is he involved at all? Maybe because the government will be given shares in the company along with the union now has over 50% of the shares. Doesn't leave much for the common shareholder. Obama did say last night he is remaking America. When did that become part of his oath of office. He was blocking repayment of bailout money by banks. His primary purpose is to get the economy up and going . The reasons that he had the senior management removed from the car companys was 1] management was not agressive enough in their management of thier recovery. and 2] the common average american WANTS to be green. They want the hybrid car,the electric car, .... they want to be patriotic and get off of foriegn oil. They want the car companys to tool up in that direction. Once the government has its hooks into something they don't let go. The president does not typically fire employee's of private business. This now gives his appointee the right to vote on decisions made. If most americans wanted the little cars ,the hybrid,we would have them now. Very few want them. Key Guy Posted May 1, 2009 Posted May 1, 2009 My big concern is the future of Jeep. When Chrysler took over that division, there was a lot of trepidation regarding the future of the toughest vehicle (at the time) on the road or trail. We Jeep fans breathed a sigh of relief when we saw that Chrysler was serious about off-roading. They have done a terrific job over the years and the TJ (Wrangler) is still unmatched in its utility, capability and versatility. I sincerely hope that Jeep will survive this mess! Quote

I understand. But, on the other hand, my 3rd Jeep was a 2001 Grand Cherokee and it was tough, reliable and I loved it! No mfgr makes 100% perfect vehicles 100% of the time. Quote
