Outta Here Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 No problem! I'd like to hold off my part of this discussion until after I've had a chance to review the book too though. Quote
Dr. Shane Posted May 11, 2009 Author Posted May 11, 2009 Actually the thread got a bit derailed there because we were talking about which level of attraction is given most priority. I think most of us agree that as we age our priorities change and what we are most attracted to changes. This is one of the reasons it is so important for young people to listen to their parents. Taking that girlfriend or boyfriend home to meet the parents is a very important part of courtship. Also, attraction is not something we move beyond. As we age with our spouses we continue to be attracted to them although the level may change from emotional to spiritual or physical to intellectual and so forth. Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... These studies do focus on the subconscious so it is not as if men are actually so superficial as to be choosing their wives based on physical appearance or women conscientiously choosing husbands based on their income. You mean my wife chose me for my potential income and not my looks? I am flabbergasted!!! Quote
Moderators Gerr Posted May 11, 2009 Moderators Posted May 11, 2009 That's just me, Red. My wife's sister who is a grand-mother, even older than me is stuck on level 1. She's been married 3x. She has a daughter who was just married and divorced for the 4th time. When her daughter goes on a date, all she could talk about is how good looking the guy is! Quote
