Guest Posted January 20, 2005 Posted January 20, 2005 Anything near 6 BILLION? Or am I too pessimistic/NEGATIVE??? Quote
Moderators Bravus Posted January 20, 2005 Moderators Posted January 20, 2005 I'm thinking not 6,000,000,000 - 144,000 Quote Truth is important
Moderators Bravus Posted January 20, 2005 Moderators Posted January 20, 2005 Assume there are a billion Christians who have claimed His sacrifice explicitly, and maybe another 2 billion otehrs who have done so implicitly... and then add in God's mercy and love... and raise to the power of infinity... and recognise that I'm delighted it's not my job to judge... Malfunction, malfunction, does not compute!!! Quote Truth is important
Moderators Bravus Posted January 20, 2005 Moderators Posted January 20, 2005 God will be horrified if it's ONE. Will we? Quote Truth is important
Guest Posted January 20, 2005 Posted January 20, 2005 Thanks for the replies Bravus I mentioned a few days ago about being on the air... Early this year the talk show host mentioned that he didn't love perfectly... that is a given.. usually for anyone... yet that begs the question....to the host....and to any reader If everyone was allowed into heaven that loved at least at your level...would it be still heaven??? Guest Posted January 20, 2005 Posted January 20, 2005 This thread is a spin off of another post I did on another forum.. The Tsunami death toll supposedly has reached 226,000 That means 5.999774 BILLION are still alive..minus a few thousand each hour...from other causes. I will research. Quote

GreatLakesGramma Posted January 22, 2005 Posted January 22, 2005 Quote: The Tsunami death toll supposedly has reached 226,000 Yet the 150,000 Christians who are martyred every year almost never make the news. Christ's Object Lessons 69 Fairly well known SOP quote..but much despised..because of the controversial word in bold. Religion is where one is deceived into finding a persuasion where they can cloak their hatred for God or Jesus..even the "Christian" persuasions. The tale of Snow White brings this out...those who kill Snow White extend past the Pharisee crowd. Nicodema Posted January 22, 2005 Posted January 22, 2005 Quote: Nice avatar Nico... Thanks. I figured it was time for something else -- I'd had the apoptosis one up a bit too long and I'm not feeling apoptosic right now, so I went on the web and found a picture of Nicodemus meeting up with Jesus -- since that is where I took the nickname "Nicodema" from (feminized version of nicodemus). Quote: "When the character of Christ shall be perfectly reproduced in His people, then He will come to claim them as His own." -- Christ's Object Lessons 69 Fairly well known SOP quote..but much despised..because of the controversial word in bold. I'm in a very simple and childlike mode right now and sometimes the best thoughts come from that frame of mind, you know? Like maybe that's why Jesus said to receive the Kingdom like a little child ... anyway ... what is coming to my mind right now is this thought: simply that the reason it is despised is because people believe that is something we have to achieve ourselves. Once that lie is broken and we realize this is God's work from start to finish, not ours, there will be nothing left to despise. We will just rejoice and say, "Bring it on, Lord!" I really think the "despising" gets in there because we keep forgetting this simple fact: it's 100% His work to do that. We start thinking WE have to do it FOR Him, and when we find we can't, we get mad at God. But He never said -- and Ellen never wrote -- "when WE perfectly reproduce the character of Christ in ourselves..." It is, instead, as you quoted above. Hmmm, think I've just given myself something to ponder here ... the light just went on upstairs ... N. Quote "After such knowledge, what forgiveness?" -- T.S. Eliot
Nicodema Posted January 22, 2005 Posted January 22, 2005 [:"#006688"]"Jesus also suffered from the very ones He came to save, humans whose deeply entrenched love of sin made them recoil from the righteousness they saw in Christ and lash out to discourage and ultimately destroy Him."[/] This is an interesting statement but it can also be a confusing one. I usually can only parse these kinds of things in two ways: in light of the reaction of the demoniac to Jesus; or in light of the animosity of Pharisees and other authoritarians toward Jesus. Admittedly, that may be my limitation. Is this the statement you referred to, JimBob? Quote "After such knowledge, what forgiveness?" -- T.S. Eliot
Guest Posted January 22, 2005 Posted January 22, 2005 Yes, that is the one. Here is some more support. Love is demonstrated in consideration, repect,appreciation.. When someone tunes you out in the conversation..how do you feel? When someone walks away from you when you are still talking. When they go uh huh..uh huh...uh huh...and are not listening. Think of when the bible is ignored/neglected in sermons, when people are making racket while the scripture reading , prayer or sermon is going on... get my drift?? then there is the outright continuation of the sinful status quo and expectation of it... Eph 4:30 And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption. 1 Thess 5:20 Despise not prophesyings. Quote
Woody Posted December 27, 2006 Posted December 27, 2006 How much will the death toll be at the Second Coming? Which Second coming are you referring to? The First Coming was when Jesus created the Earth and he walked and talked with Adam and Eve. His Second coming which did not directly cause any death was when he was born of Mary. His Third or Second second coming was after he arose from the tomb he returned to the Father and then returned to walk and talk with the disciples and others. His Fourth or Third Second coming will be when he comes to take us to Heaven. His Fifth and the one that I look forward to is when he brings the Holy City to this Earth and makes the Earth a new earth and a place for us to live eternally. there buster Posted December 28, 2006 Posted December 28, 2006 Whatever the death toll is, it will no doubt be attributed by several on this forum to George W. Bush. Quote “the slovenliness of our language makes it easier to have foolish thoughts.” George Orwell
