Dottie Posted May 17, 2009 Posted May 17, 2009 Basketball was invented by James Naismith, who used a peach basket. http://www.kansasheritage.org/people/naismith.html Quote
Liz Posted May 17, 2009 Posted May 17, 2009 Oh Man, Dottie, was faster than me. I found out he was a Freemason, and he invented it so that students could play indoors during the long winter months. And the reason why you have never seen a complete one on t.v. is because.....it's boring unless you are actually playing it. I made that last bit up. GreatLakesGramma Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 Many years ago, I used to watch the NBA on CBS, and they were always complete games. And I didn't think they were boring at all. Basketball is the only sport I have ever enjoyed watching. Mostly I can't stand watching sports. Quote Catherine God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. Psalm 73:26. Members phkrause Posted May 18, 2009 Members Posted May 18, 2009 Well I'm one of those freaks, I love all sports, have played most of them, and love watching baseball, my most favorite sport. Had always wished that I could have played in HS, but all games were on Saturdays. I did play in a summer league, but only played on sundays, the team only played on the weekends. The only sport I hate is golf. pk Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Proverbs 29;2
