Administrators Gail Posted May 21, 2009 Administrators Posted May 21, 2009 We as SDA have been blessed by understanding on everything from natural remedies to education to God's hand in history. But because people don't read EGW books anymore like they used to, they are missing a LOT. Quote Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.
BobRyan Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 Indeed "none are so blind as those who WILL not see" in Christ, Bob Quote John 8:32 - The Truth will make you free“The righteousness of Christ will not cover one cherished sin." COL 316.
Administrators Gail Posted May 21, 2009 Author Administrators Posted May 21, 2009 I have no problem with that at all! If there is any proving to be done it should be by the Word! But what about other subjects? It was through the Ministry of Healing that I learned how to care for sick people. Child Guidance was an immense help to me when raising my children. Education was also gave great information when I was homeschooling. Quote Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.
GreatLakesGramma Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 Gail, I also have gained a lot from Sister White's writings, including the same ones you've mentioned, and more. Quote Catherine God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. Psalm 73:26. "To be a Christian means to forgive the inexcusable, because God has forgiven the inexcusable in you." -- C. S. Lewis
Dottie Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 Didn't she say we are to check what she says with the Bible? Then there wold be no difference of opinion as to which one to follow. The books that have been mentioned use the principles of the Holy Word to help us understand in more specifics how to use those principles in our lives. (Does that make sense?) Quote
GreatLakesGramma Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 Yes Dottie, that's why they're so helpful. Quote Catherine God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. Psalm 73:26. "To be a Christian means to forgive the inexcusable, because God has forgiven the inexcusable in you." -- C. S. Lewis
