Miley - You Go Girl

Miley's Thigh Anxiety

[Miley Cyrus] decision to share one of them with her 600,000-plus Twitter followers has given her an unwelcome glimpse of the Internet's scary, self-image-stomping underbelly.

"I just jiggled my thighs and they shook on their own for 3 Mississippis," she wrote on Friday. "No more late night Lucky Charms."

...her Tweet opened the floodgates across various message boards for some seriously off-target types who were only too happy to agree and elaborate on her fault-finding, even stooping to using the f-word (no, the other one -- "fat").

"Talk all you want. I have my flaws," Miley fired back. "I'm a normal girl. There's things about my body I would change but stop with calling me f*t in post. I don't even like the word. Those remarks that you hateful people use are fighting words. The ones that scar people and cause them to do damage to themselves or others."

Cyrus then offered her advice for "people that are so okay with being so hateful,"suggesting they "spend [less] time on a gossip website and more time a. reading your bible b. reading stories/articles about what happens when cyber abuse and name calling happens. Kids hurt themselves."

She also attempted a little damage control by pointing out, "Oh and P.S: If your thighs don't jiggle go see a doctor," which further riled up the masses, who accused her of dissing the skinny demographic.

That prompted Miley to note that Nicole Richie, who's currently incubating her second child, "has one the tiniest, most adorable bodies and I guarantee u even HER thighs jiggle! Everyone's do!!! I'm not putting skinny girls down! I believe in exercise and treating your body like a temple."

She's obviously just as confused about her body as almost every other teenaged girl: Going from an initial tweet about not eating Lucky Charms late at night because her thighs jiggle, to a tweet saying it's perfectly normal because everyone's thighs jiggle.

Posted

It appears that her original tweet was intended as a joke. When she later clarified that it was normal she was being serious.

My little six-year old is crazy about Hannah Montana as many of the girls in her class are. So I watch the Miley Cyrus news because is she goes the way of Brittney Spears or Jessica Simpson we will have to lessen her exposure in our home. So far she has proven that while she is not little miss perfect, she is a Christian and not afraid of talking of her faith. He she is taking on cyber bullies which is quite admirable.

From everything I've seen it seems that she's a very bright, very talented young lady who is also down-to-earth and well grounded morally. I believe the plot of her movie is about just that too. Great to see.

I don't think we need to see real or fake pictures of anyone like that. Cosmin, please remove the link. Thanks

Cosmin, you ask if pk could be sure the photos were not really of Miley. The fact is, you can not sure they really ARE. So it is wrong of you to pass judgment on her for them, to label her, and make speculations on her future behavior, based on them. We could attach some labels to you, and make negative speculations about your future, based on some things you have told us about yourself, such as your use of pirated music, which is illegal and immoral, and you wouldn't like being judged and condemned for that. So don't be so quick to pass judgment on another young person, especially based on what other people say about her, who don't know her personally any more than you do.

"Judge not, that you be not judged. For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you. And why do you look at the speck in your brother's eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye?" Mat 7:1-3

Amen Catherine. That is something we all need to remember on a daily basis.
