Moderators Bravus Posted May 25, 2009 Moderators Posted May 25, 2009 This (may) explain(s) a few things: Having Daughters Rather Than Sons Makes You More Liberal Quote Truth is important
Moderators Bravus Posted May 25, 2009 Author Moderators Posted May 25, 2009 Check out the info at the link, DG, where they at least suggest a few plausible mechanisms. Quote Truth is important
Ted Oplinger Posted May 25, 2009 Posted May 25, 2009 And to think my daughter is driving me quite the other way...Her very first chaperoned movie date is tomorrow...I'm still not quite ready for that! I guess I'm the statistical outlier for that study! Quote "As iron sharpens iron, so also does one man sharpen another" - Proverbs 27:17 "The offense of the cross is that the cross is a confession of human frailty and sin and of inability to do any good thing. To take the cross of Christ means to depend solely on Him for everything, and this is the abasement of all human pride. Men love to fancy themselves independent. But let the cross be preached, let it be made known that in man dwells no good thing and that all must be received as a gift, and straightway someone is offended." Ellet J. Waggoner, The Glad Tidings "Courage is being scared to death - and saddling up anyway" - John Wayne "The person who pays an ounce of principle for a pound of popularity gets badly cheated" - Ronald Reagan
Moderators Bravus Posted May 25, 2009 Author Moderators Posted May 25, 2009 I know, there are definitely some things about being the Dad of teenage daughters that move me to the right: I should totally have the right to bear a shotgun when meeting their beaux at the door, for example. olger Posted May 25, 2009 Posted May 25, 2009 Do you have cats, Bravis? That can make you more liberal as well. Quote "Please don't feed the drama queens.."
Outta Here Posted May 25, 2009 Posted May 25, 2009 Makes complete sense to me. Oddly enough, I wouldn't have thought such a study necessary. People vie for the ones they love, and women fare much better in a liberal environment than they do in a traditionally male-dominated conservative environment. Quote
Moderators Bravus Posted May 25, 2009 Author Moderators Posted May 25, 2009 I have masculine cattle and sheep dogs, Olger, so no joy on that front. Quote Truth is important
Amelia Posted May 25, 2009 Posted May 25, 2009 Well my father is definitely not more liberal.
