Gus Foster Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 Do we have a clear enough picture of the "Babylon" of Rev 18 to know and understand who she is and what is her 'fall?' As we observe the demise of the world's 'merchants' and currencies, realizing that central banks now have control of most global activities, does our understanding of prophecy give us the foundational footing to survive the impending crisis? We remember that Jesus 'cleansed' the temple at the beginning and at the close of His earthly ministry. It appears that Herod and Pilot had allowed the trading to enter into the temple's area of 36 acres, where Roman dinaries were traded for faceless shekels, and animal sacrifices were purchased within the temple grounds. As we watch industry collapse, unemployed and homeless ranks expedientially erupt, and church, school and conference budget's strain to achieve balance, are we watching the approach of those merchant ships sinking? If so, does that intensify our efforts to share the gospel to the 'whole world' and to cleanse our own personal temples, or do we just, in a cooperative mode, give the whole mess to Jesus, confident that in the long run He will take care of everything?
