How the Lord gives us more than what we ask....

I just have to share this with you all...I would call it an answer to prayer. As some of you know, our family has been convicted on diet, and the health message, so we have really changed our diet alot. Well...we started making our own bread...and grains are not cheap..but have gotten really expensive. So, I prayed to the Lord to please find us someplace where we can buy wheat cheaper. In the meantime, I was buying flour at Walmart until I could find it cheaper somewhere. I could really tell the difference in buying the flours vs buying the grain and grinding it myself. I felt so much better with buying the grains. Every year, the town where our church is, has a festival. That is where anyone can rent a spot and sell or display their products. Well, our church conference every year brings down a health van to this festival, and we give free blood pressures, etc. My husband and I went out and passed out some flyers, and we stopped at this booth that was trying to promote buying local produce at a market in that town. I then asked her if they sold wheat. She told me they didn't, but knew someone who grew wheat and gave me his name and number. I called him, and he told me that he would sell this grain to me for only $8 for 60 pounds. Wow! I thought! So much cheaper vs $50 for 50lbs., I was paying elsewhere! I felt so blessed and excited! :) He told me they were going to harvest it the day after Memorial Day and to call back then. Well, I called, and because of the rain, they have to harvest it later, and was a little concerned, because it had rained so much, and rain was predicted in the next few days. As you know, you have to harvest wheat when it's dry. So, I already had told a friend of mine who makes bread as well, and she and I prayed that the rain would stop. If they couldn't harvest it soon, it would blossom, and they would loose it all. And, he told me that they had abundant wheat this year...they sell most of it to the bread making companies around here. It finally stopped raining, and on the day they harvested it, this past Monday, we went and got enough for a year! And my friend got a lot too. They even took our children on the harvester truck to harvest some wheat to see how the work was. It was such a blessing that day. Well, we were ready to go and ready to pay him, and couldn't find him, so we decided to contact him on the phone. I called, and finally reached him, and he told me that he wasn't going to charge us anything, and that to bring our children over anytime we wanted to learn more about farming, or go camping, etc. So, I thought this was more than what I asked for from the Lord. I thought $8 was the biggest blessing on wheat..but when he said we didn't owe him anything for that! The Lord gives and provides more than what we ask for His children. He has many ways to provide for His children...He owns all the lands, farms, wheat fields, etc....what an awesome God we serve! So, I am praising the Lord for this wonderful blessing He gave us this week! :) My friend and I can't stop sharing this with others! :) So, I hope this has brought encouragement to someone today! :)
