Administrators Gail Posted June 19, 2009 Administrators Posted June 19, 2009 In the city where I live we have an EXCELLENT recycling program. The regular city garbage collectors take our paper, cardboard, metal (small, like cans) and numbers 1 (PETE), 2 and 5 plastics as well as tetrabrik packages. Now they have added to that yard waste, which they will turn into organic compost. All we need to do is to put a sticker from the city on a garbage receptacle set aside for the purpose and they will take your clippings with the regular collection. Awesome! Members rudywoofs (Pam) Posted June 19, 2009 Members Posted June 19, 2009 Where I live it's mandatory to do the recycling. They give all garbage customers separate containers to put the various things, i.e., paper/hard plastics, yard/garden debris, glass, and general garbage that doesn't fit into any criteria. It can be a pain in the rear to do all the sorting but I know it helps the ecology. Quote Pam Meddle Not In the Affairs of Dragons; for You Are Crunchy and Taste Good with Ketchup. If we all sang the same note in the choir, there'd never be any harmony. Funny, isn't it, how we accept Grace for ourselves and demand justice for others?
