True-believer Posted July 10, 2009 Posted July 10, 2009 I am posting this post to say goodbye to you all here on the Adventist-forum. I have had lots of fun being on here. Thankyou to all who have responded to all my previous posts. I could come back at a later date to say "Hi". I nearly became baptized in the SDA Church, and even started believing in the 28point doctrine. My life has turned completely upside down, and I need to get my life back on the right track spiritually. I need to get back fully grounded in the Bible and not in the fundamental beliefs of the sda church. I don't believe that sunday is the mark of the beast--all days are equal--and we can rest in Jesus because He is our Lord of the Sabbath--He is our Lord of REST--we rest fully In Him 24/7. I am taking a break from the sda church and its beliefs. I am looking forward to the Rapture, when Jesus comes to take the true Christians out of this world, and return with Him seven years later in His Second Coming to rule and reign on a cleansed earth for a thousand years with Christ. Goodbye all... this is very sad for me. I will see you all in heaven at death or either at the Rapture---depending on which comes first??? This has been a very rocky ride for me, and this has been a very hard decision for me to make. I have been studying my Bible heaps, and the beliefs I am finding do not match up with sda teaching. I love you all, and will miss you all heaps. Goodbye for now and God bless you all... Until next time... True-believer -- (Luke) Quote Luke 4:19To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.
LifeHiscost Posted July 10, 2009 Posted July 10, 2009 I will see you all in heaven at death or either at the Rapture---depending on which comes first??? True-believer -- (Luke) I need to give personal testimony that the doctrine you have decided to follow is not the doctrine of Christ. However, when a person has been led to believe that which is false, Jesus does not love them any less. He will do what is necessary to give you all His best, but He knows you will fall into trials hard to bear, because He cannot reveal Himself to you by a doctrine that does not reveal the Truth. IOW, the peace that passes all understanding will leave your experience. He does have a promise, among others, He still holds out to you. " Return unto me, and I will return unto you, saith the LORD of hosts."Malachi 3:7 KJV One of His best promises is this. "Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. "John 8:31 NKJV Regards! Quote Lift Jesus up!!
True-believer Posted July 10, 2009 Author Posted July 10, 2009 thanks lifehiscoast and dgrimm60, actually my head is very fuzzy and I just need time away to work out everything. I love the sda church, i love the wonderful people i met there, and i love the forum here as well. I just need time to work things out. Quote Luke 4:19To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.
Dr. Shane Posted July 10, 2009 Posted July 10, 2009 Each of us has to follow the where our convictions lead us after prayer and Bible study. I studied with several different churches before I accepted the Adventist message. Even if I wasn't convinced Sunday was the mark of the beast I would still stay with the Adventist church. The Adventist church is one of the few Christian churches that keep the Ten Commandments, believe in soul sleep and the annihilation of the wicked in hell. Those doctrines combined with righteousness by faith and salvation be grace are enough to keep me in the Advent movement. Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... olger Posted July 10, 2009 Posted July 10, 2009 The Adventist 'church' is no ordinary body. It is a movement, called of God to prepare a dying world for the soon return of the Lord Jesus. An understanding of the prophecies of Daniel & The Revelation by the Hand of God, led to the formation of this last "message bearer" to Earth. The Adventist church has an understanding of prophecy that is far beyond anything I've ever seen. The Adventist people also possess a knowledge of Jesus and His Life & Ministry that is thrilling. Yet along with that insight comes a responsibility. Lest you think I am brag¬ging (I'm not), may I say that the church is full of people who struggle and fail, just as I do. The good news is: Jesus accepts sinners, and invites us to grow in Him as a perfect body. In the words of Paul: "this is a mystery," but it is also a reality. God is calling together a people who want to know Him, and will walk where He walks. If you must go, go in peace. gcw Quote "Please don't feed the drama queens.."
Outta Here Posted July 10, 2009 Posted July 10, 2009 Grace, mercy and peace be unto you from God the Father and from our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! Psalm 97:12 Rejoice in the Lord, you righteous, and give thanks at the remembrance of His Holy Name. Quote
Administrators Gail Posted July 10, 2009 Administrators Posted July 10, 2009 Ditto what olger said. We can see the signs unfolding before us. You are most welcome any time, Luke. :) Quote Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.
Dr. Rich Posted July 10, 2009 Posted July 10, 2009 True Believer, I have been there and done that and understand where you are in your spiritual search for truth. This is a life long task and what little I have read on your posts were wonderful. My prayer is for you to 'seek first the kingdom of heaven and HIS righteousness'.. and do not become discouraged just because Satan is master at deception. One other thing, emotions alone are not to be trusted. Some times truth will hit you like a ton of bricks. Satan knows who he must try to deceive and right now it may not be the ones who are setting on the fence. Blessings, Dr. Rich (SDA) Quote
Moderators Nan Posted July 10, 2009 Moderators Posted July 10, 2009 Blessings as you journey on, Luke, and I will hope to see you back here sometime. Nan Quote
Moderators LynnDel Posted July 11, 2009 Moderators Posted July 11, 2009 Luke, I can see how this would be very hard for you. You are buffeted about with many winds of doctrine. Read God's Word, pray for His Spirit, and He will guide you into all truth. I will miss seeing you here, but hope we can chat again on Facebook sometime. I will keep you and your hard decisions in my prayers. Christian hugs, LynnDel Quote LD
Key Guy Posted July 11, 2009 Posted July 11, 2009 Luke, Years ago, I had been in a situation where, like Peter, I basically said, "Where else is there to go?" I hope you conclude that there is no other place to turn that will bring you peace, joy and the motivation to grow in the Grace of Jesus. Happy Trails Quote

Christian hugs, LynnDel LynnDel--I am not buffeted about with many winds of doctrine--I was when I was caught up in the 28 fundamental beliefs of the sda church, but I am leaving all that behind me now. I will not get caught up with a false prophet ellen white, nor will I believe in soul sleep. I will never again be tossed to and fro with every wind of doctrine from the sda church. My life needs to get back on the right track, and I will not get indoctrinated ever again with these very strange doctrines of the sda church. I'm very sorry LynnDel and others on this forum, but I'll see you all in heaven later. Quote Luke 4:19To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.
jasd Posted July 11, 2009 Posted July 11, 2009 >>I nearly became baptized in the SDA Church, and even started believing in the 28point doctrine.<< It may be that one is not Biblically adjured to be baptized in any but the ‘Body/church’ of Jesus Christ; however, it may be that in your instance – it should be, as first impressions are usually spiritual promptings. Otherwise, .orgisms tend, as do single-cell organisms, to self-preservation. That said, although I cannot recite for you the 27/8 Fundamentals, I would hazard that one could abide them – and perhaps, agree with, if not all, most of them... >>I am looking forward to the Rapture, when Jesus comes to take the true Christians out of this world,<< ...that being so, it seems to me that your business in the meantime is to ‘let your light so shine’ that others might benefit – and this forum provides that initial format from whence you may think to expand into other media. >>I have been studying my Bible heaps, and the beliefs I am finding do not match up with sda teaching.<< In my considered opinion, some do and some don’t – as you’ll find in all .orgs. There are those within the .Org who believe as you; however, that does not necessarily translate to a suggestion of a like practice of the JW; that is, of shunning or of disassociation. (umm, I take that back – there are the like-minded within the .Org who agitate for such practices) >>...I just need time away to work out everything.<< Exactly. Take the two weeks that the average adult needs to refresh – and return robustly dialoguing your Biblical “heaps”. It is your responsibility. You are obliged. However, bear in mind that there is much in the .Org that is commendable; as well, there are those within the .Org who will surely precede you and me to the heavenlies. Quote
Dr. Shane Posted July 11, 2009 Posted July 11, 2009 I will not get caught up with a false prophet ellen white... I'm very sorry LynnDel and others on this forum, but I'll see you all in heaven later. Now this is not logical. If Adventists follow a "false prophet" why would one expect to see them in heaven? After all, the purpose of a "false prophet" is to lead them astray. The fact that Ellen White's writings lead a person into a closer relationship with Christ is evidence that she is not a false prophet. She taught salvation by grace through the blood of Christ. She taught in the pre-existence of Christ. She taught a belief in the Trinity. All of her teachings fall in line with the fundamental teachings of the Bible. Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... olger Posted July 11, 2009 Posted July 11, 2009 We do not need people in the church that we have to persuade & persuade & persuade and then they finally say halfheartedly "Well ok, but you better be good to me." It's all about them. g Quote "Please don't feed the drama queens.."
GreatLakesGramma Posted July 11, 2009 Posted July 11, 2009 We had a former Baptist minister in our church. He believed in the Sabbath, and most of our doctrines, but he struggled with a few things. He was in and out, in and out, again and again and again, and finally left for good. I doubt that he is even keeping the Sabbath anymore. Dr. Shane Posted July 12, 2009 Posted July 12, 2009 The Holy Spirit moves to convict us and as we continue to resist He eventually gives up on us. I think it is hard for many new Adventists that get on the web, do searches and find all kinds of anti-Adventist sites. Reality is that the web is filled with anti-Baptist, anti-Lutheran, anti-Methodist, anti-Mormon, anti-Scientology, etc. etc. etc. The truth fear not investigation but if a new believer is going to go to anti-Adventist sites they need to print out what troubles them and take it with them to the one they are doing Bible studies with. GreatLakesGramma Posted July 12, 2009 Posted July 12, 2009 Some people don't need anti-adventist sites to have doubts. The doctrines they have been taught all along are so deeply ingrained that the evidence against their beliefs can't get through. Dr. Shane Posted July 12, 2009 Posted July 12, 2009 I am sure that is true. However those looking on the internet with search engines are going to find a lot of anti-religion sites regarless which religion it is they are looking into. Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... jasd Posted July 12, 2009 Posted July 12, 2009 >>All of her teachings fall in line with the fundamental teachings of the Bible.<< All? What of those that run-off tangentially, not so much as “in line” but more as rabbit trails...? Dr. Rich Posted July 12, 2009 Posted July 12, 2009 I for one can understand where Luke is right now. Many, yes many within the SDA church have become disenchanted with the power and politics of the GC. I will come right out and tell you it is my opinion that the SDA church is so dangerous to Satan that he has his agents involved in the high places (of the SDA GC) so that some of us feel frustrated as 'heck' with them. Maybe its just me as I have been involved with the SDA church for over 60 years and have seen the pendulum swing from kind, honest and sincere people who may not know they have been deceived, into an atmosphere of commercialism and greed. Is it a conspiracy theory? I don't know. But I do know it parallels the way the United States Government has been lying to everyone for a long, long time. (Probably shouldn’t have said that here) But Luke, please read Matthew 7:24-29 and don’t ever forget the foundation. If you build your house (belief) upon what you see here, Jesus didn’t say it would be easy, but when the storm of truth comes, and it will, your house will stand firm. Hang in there Luke! knockkneedchicke Posted July 12, 2009 Posted July 12, 2009 I have been in the SDA for over 30 years. I thank God every day that He has led me to the truths of the Bible. I was RC for 26 years and was in complete darkness. Oh, what wonderful light God has given me. I feel so privilaged each day. Thank you Jesus. Quote
