The documentary shows just how much stress is involved in determining foreign policy. There are many, many consequences to weigh for any decision.

Agreed - I learned some new things there too.

But in that 3 minute segment I saw genuine soul anguish over the loss of a corrupt leader - on a mass population level. It reminds me of the condition of the lost who at the end of time cry out "The summer is ended, the harvest is past and we are not saved!".

It also reminds me of the degree to which fallen mankind is willing to place the trust that belongs to God -- in another fallen (even corrupt) human leader.

There is coming a point in time when "the man of sin" will have total control of the earth - kind of chilling to see just how "bought in" everyone will be once he does that.

I think he was found to be suffering from pancreatic cancer.

I don't think that leaves him as a candidate for "antichrist" - besides the Pope already took that job.

And the ultimate 2Thess 2 "man of sin" is Satan though I think the Pope has offerred himself as a stand-in until Satan is given the green light to take the job.
