Key Guy Posted July 11, 2009 Posted July 11, 2009 From Wales Online... United Kingdom http://www.walesonline.co.uk/news/wales-...91466-24127025/ Quote: TEENAGER Anna Surridge is so passionate about climate change she organised her own eco-baptism. Although Anna has been busy sitting her GCSEs during the past few months, it hasn’t stopped her raising awareness of climate change. The 16-year-old from Radyr, Cardiff, who was chosen as one of six Climate Change Champions for Wales following a Welsh Assembly Government competition, is eco-aware and eco-friendly in everything she does. The Bishop of Llandaff High School pupil worked out that the electricity needed to raise the temperature of a baptistery (for immersion baptisms) to a comfortable temperature could be equivalent to making a thousand cups of tea and that it easily holds more than 1,000 litres of water. So she decided to be baptised in a more green way. Anna attends the Seventh-day Adventist Church, Twyn Road, Ystrad Mynach, and the Minister, Jeremy Tremeer, arranged for Anna’s baptism to take place during a weekend camp near Brecon in the river Usk. “It was an amazing experience,” said Anna, who was baptised by her father John, a Minister and administrator for the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Wales. “The weather was fantastic, but the water was freezing. “I was wearing a wetsuit, as was my dad who baptised me, but I most certainly could still feel the cold.” Anna is trying to live a greener life in everything she does, from growing her own vegetables to getting an old mobile phone from a friend instead of buying a new one, and she even wore a vintage 1950s dress instead of a new one to her school prom – and she went there by train not limousine. olger Posted July 11, 2009 Posted July 11, 2009 I've been working on creating a greener hell. We'll use solar power only, and the ashes will be used to raise the soil PH. Wind power will be used to fan the flames. Whattya say? We could grow the church by millions, our slogan: "Come join our no-carbon hell." It's practically assured of success !! Looking for additional suggestions/input and hell-hints, g Quote "Please don't feed the drama queens.."
