So amazing it brought tears to my eyes. I can hardly wait until we can play with the lions on the new earth. They are so beautiful.

Come soon Lord Jesus.

I agree with carolaa, this was awesome, and knockkneedchickie, can't wait for Jesus to come and get us, so I can play with those Lions also.

Question--are you assuming we get to play with lions in heaven? Where did you get this idea from--please?

Posted

Are you suggesting that we would be fearful of lions in heaven? Will we build cages of protection against the beasts of the field? Where do you get this idea from?

Good thought Redwood. Was actually trying to find where I had read something to that effect, but with no luck as of yet. I kind of remember, I believe, EGW writing about that. Something about the Lion and the Lamb lying together. Seems to me that if that's the case its not to far fetched to believe that we will be able to also play with lions, tigers and bears. How could anyone believe otherwise would be my question.

Isa 65:25 The wolf and the lamb shall feed together, and the lion shall eat straw like the bullock: and dust [shall be] the serpent's meat. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain, saith the LORD.

If the lambs, wolves, bullocks and lions can live together without killing each other, I guess I can play with that lion. Right?

Ok, but perhaps you should read Isa. 65 all the way through and you will see that this is NOT a picture of heaven, but a picture of what God would have done IF Israel would have become righteous. You will see that people still die in this chapter--sure, they would live a long time, but they would still die. Therefore this can't be heaven.

And where does one get the idea that lions or any animals are in heaven? I see beasts and elders in Revelation--but as for lions?

Posted

It can't be talking literally on this earth as we now know it. That has never happened and will never happen until the new earth. If you read the verses before it you will see that it will be at a time where we can have our own houses too and plant our own vineyards. No dying etc.

Yes, I believe this is substantially correct, Dr. Rich. The OT has many conditional prophecies related to Israel, and Is. 65 and 66 contains some of them, as well as Zechariah and Ezekiel.

Had the Jewish nation as a whole accepted the Messiah, things would have happened quite a bit differently than they did.

So some of you are saying that you doubt there will be any animals, beasts, lions in Heaven or on the New Earth?

No, I wouldn't be surprised if God has animals in heaven. It would agree with what I believe the Bible teaches us about God. I think God is preparing heaven to be a place where humans will feel at home and be completely happy. One of the things that would make humans at home are the animals that we've come to love on earth and that we associate with God's creative power and love for us.

In my previous post, I was just saying that Is. 65 is not intended to be a portrayal of heaven but that it is talking about the earth and of what would have literally occurred on earth if the Jews had accepted Christ.

Didn't God say something about what we think does not make it so? The reason we needed pray was to eat the plants (lawnmowers) then we had to have meat eaters to make sure the lawnmowers didn't take over. Tell me why we would need all of these in heaven?

Try this... If the New Earth is a copy of Eden (complete with the Tree of Life), I'd think animals would be there.

This, from the pen of Ellen G. White.

The Day Star, Jan. 24, 1846

Written Dec. 20, 1845

A View of the New Earth:

We all descended from this place down into the city, and with Jesus at our head we all descended from the city down to this earth, on a great and mighty mountain, which could not bear Jesus up, and it parted asunder, and there was a mighty plain. Then we looked up and saw the great city with twelve foundations, twelve gates, three on each side, and an angel at each gate, and all cried out the city, the great city, it's coming, it's coming down from God, out of heaven, and it came and settled on the place where we stood. Then we began to look at the glorious things outside of the city. There I saw most glorious houses, that had the appearance of silver, supported by four pillars, set with pearls most glorious to behold, which were to be inhabited by the saints. In them was a golden shelf, I saw many of the saints go into the houses, take off their glittering crowns and lay them on the shelf, then go out into the field by the houses to do something with the earth, not as we have to do with the earth here; no, no. A glorious light shone all about their heads, and they were continually shouting and offering praises to God. And I saw another field full of all kinds of flowers, and as I plucked them, I cried out, well they will never fade. Next I saw a field of tall grass, most glorious to behold. It was living green, and had a reflection of silver and gold as it waved proudly to the glory of King Jesus. Then we entered a field full of all kinds of beasts; the lion, the lamb, the leopard and the wolf, altogether in perfect union. We passed through the midst of them, and they followed on peaceably after. Then we entered a wood, not like the dark woods we have here, no, no; but light, and all over glorious. The branches of the trees waved to and fro, and we all cried out, we will dwell safely in the wilderness and sleep in this woods. We passed through the wood, for we were on our way to Mount Zion, as we were traveling along we met a company who were also gazing at the glories of the place: I noticed red as a border on their garments. Their crowns were brilliant--their robes were pure white. As we greeted them, I asked Jesus who they were? He said they were martyrs that had been slain for him. With them was an innumerable company of little ones, they had a hem of red on their garments also. Mount Zion was just before us, and on the Mount sat a glorious temple, and about it were seven other mountains, on which grew roses and lilies, and I saw the little ones climb, or if they chose use their little wings and fly to the top of the mountains, and pluck the never fading flowers. There were all kinds of trees around the temple to beautify the place. The box, the pine, the fir, the oil, the myrtle, the pomegranate and the fig tree, bowed down with the weight of its timely figs that made the place look all over glorious. And as we were about to enter the holy temple, Jesus raised his lovely voice and said, only the 144,000 enter this place, and we shouted Hallelujah.

John 317, thanks for posting the vision from EGW. If anyone can believe this warped vision then Satan is going to have an easy time with them later. She must have been smoking something--for I have heard about the same thing come from people who have been high on drugs. You did a great job in giving us more fuel for her not being quite 'right' in the head. Perhaps that rock did much more damage then most believe.

For those who don't know what I am writing about, you can do a search on EGW about her medical and physical problems from respected doctors from Loma Linda University and why these problems may have been at the heart of her alleged association with God.

If you want to listen to a study that proves that Adam and Eve were not the first humans on this earth, you can go to www.talkshoe.com and listen to tonights tuesday nite study by searching for 'the bible on trial' I would like for someone to disprove what this study showed.

I listened to the so called study. I found this painful to listen to.

It's like the blind leading the blind! I don't see how anyone can be that far off, and still think they're on the right track. A lot of assumption, a lot of reading in what isn't there.

Dr. Rich, do you really believe this convoluted conversation between Dennis and Rick proved anything?

It certainly didn't prove that Adam and Eve were not the first humans.
