True-believer Posted July 18, 2009 Posted July 18, 2009 Hi adventist-forum family, I went to sda church today and i went to the front door and i just stood there, i freezed, and after a fair while i went back to my car and drove home. I went back to the sda church, and the same thing happened, i frozed, went back to my car, and went home. What is happening with me? Why am I freezing---being still--then rushing back to my car, and going home? Why ain't I walking in to the sda church? I wish i knew the answers, but i don't??? Please pray that God will change me from the insideout when it comes to entering the sda church, and i will be able to enter in with no problems and no freezing moments. Is God trying to tell me something about the sda church? What is God warning me about the sda church? I don't have the answers??? Quote Luke 4:19To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.
Key Guy Posted July 18, 2009 Posted July 18, 2009 Hi adventist-forum family... Is God trying to tell me something about the sda church? What is God warning me about the sda church? I don't have the answers??? Yes, God is trying to tell you something. God speaks to us all the time. Specifically, God speaks through His word and it's us that jam those signals, so to speak. When we fully surrender to His will, God will actively show us His plan for us... plus give us the power to obey! That is the peace that passes understanding. I believe that your current struggle clearly shows you are not happy with your decisions to date. I pray that you will make the commitment to follow God's lead and keep the devil from hounding you like this. Quote
nuff sed Posted July 18, 2009 Posted July 18, 2009 What makes you think that it is "God" that is holding you back from entering the church?? I think that it is time that you said, "Get thee behind me , Satan" and move on in. Quote

knockkneedchicke Posted July 18, 2009 Posted July 18, 2009 It is satan holding you back, not God. Quote
Guest truthseeker007 Posted July 18, 2009 Posted July 18, 2009 I had exactly the same experience!it s the reason i don t visit the church anymore. It s like getting a kick in the head from the holy spirit itself. Quote
knockkneedchicke Posted July 18, 2009 Posted July 18, 2009 We are not supposed to live by our feelings but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God. Our feelings change daily. Quote
GreatLakesGramma Posted July 18, 2009 Posted July 18, 2009 TB, I suggest you talk to some of your friends from the Adventist church, and the pastor as well. Tell them what is happening to you and ask them to meet you at the door next Sabbath. Or better yet, prayer meeting or whatever the next meeting happens to be. The sooner the better. Perhaps with their help and prayers, you will be able to enter the church. It could be that there is a demon preventing you from going inside. Since you consciously rejected what you knew to be truth, you opened up that possibility. But God has not given you up, or you would not even want to go back. So with the help of other true believers, I am sure you can overcome this obstacle. Quote Catherine God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. Psalm 73:26. "To be a Christian means to forgive the inexcusable, because God has forgiven the inexcusable in you." -- C. S. Lewis
Members phkrause Posted July 18, 2009 Members Posted July 18, 2009 Have to say TB I agree with what all the others have said. I would say that Gladussee has really hot the nail on the head. I'm also thinking that this is the SDA church that you had been going to in the past, and probably have not been attending lately? So you feeling guilty now, about see all the people, but don't, there's nothing wrong with struggling, its the HS working with you. Your in our prays. And don't forget God loves you. He knows what you are going through. pk Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Proverbs 29;2
Woody Posted July 18, 2009 Posted July 18, 2009 Where do you think God would have you to go? A place where there are no sinners? You will have to wait for that. When you see His face at the Second Coming you will be changed and become sinless. THEN you can go to the place where there is no sin. But not until then. In the mean time .... God expects you to love and asssociate with His sinners in His church. That is what He has called you to do. The only question IS: Will you accept your mission. bluebelle Posted July 19, 2009 Posted July 19, 2009 Hi, I'm going to approach this on the outside a bit: Do you fear that something might happen to you if you go? Do you fear you might be judged? What would be the worst possible thing you'd expect if you went in? Really ask yourself these questions and write out the answers if you must. If there are other questions and answers note those too. Take whatever you have noted and bring it before the Lord with a sincere heart, really talk about it to Him. I find Psalm 139 to be of great comfort when I find myself in a trepid situation. The number one thing to remember is God never operates out of fear and confusion. Judges 6 verses 15 & 16 reminds us that regardless of how feeble we may feel, God is always beside us, ready to help us fight. I hope this helps. Quote
Moderators LynnDel Posted July 19, 2009 Moderators Posted July 19, 2009 Is it because you are alone, True-believer? I have done that more than once in the last few years -- walked into a church and felt so alone and invisible that I turned around and walked out. It helped me to find friends to go with and sit with. It's something you have to do yourself, because it rare for someone to do it for you. That's probably a simplistic answer to your dilemma, but I didn't want the possibility to be ignored. Prayers, LynnDel Quote LD

Very good questions bluebelle, Yes i do fear something will happen to me if i go in. Yes i do fear that i will be judged. The worst possible thing that i expect if i walked in i think would be all them staring at me and pondering to themselves, "what does he want, oh no, he's back again, go away," i feel them thinking negative thoughts about me, and not very christian-like behavior in the way they think or act towards me. I hope that answers your questions bluebelle. Also Psalm 139 helps alot, thankyou. Quote Luke 4:19To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.

BobRyan Posted July 20, 2009 Posted July 20, 2009 And by PORTO RICO -- I assume you mean Puerto Rico?? I agree with the comments here - you simply go to church like everyone else. Try walking in early for Sabbath school. Very few people are there then - and you will not feel overwhelmed. in Christ, Bob Quote John 8:32 - The Truth will make you free“The righteousness of Christ will not cover one cherished sin."
