Questions regarding Ron Wyatt

Hello, I hope this is a good place to post this topic!

I remember watching movies about Ron Wyatt when I was younger, probably 12 years ago being the last time I watched them, and I wonder what evidence there is to substantiate this man's claims? I can see Noah's ark and Mt. Sinai as being convincing, but the ark of the Covenant idea, especially with the idea of there being a hole in the ground in which Jesus' blood trickled down to go on the ark of the Covenant, seems too ridiculous right off the bat. (I hope that doesn't insult anyone, but where in scripture does it even say that this would be necessary in order to achieve the plan of salvation if the ark of the covenant is simply a type of the sanctuary in Heaven?)

Could some one give me any insight before I delve deeply into it myself. I can see that the scholarly community has little regard for his claims.

Also, does anyone know why there would be a rock with 8 crosses on it at the Noah's ark sight in Turkey? I don't see how that's evidence as the cross wasn't a symbol of belief in Yahweh until Jesus died.

P.S. I was born after the era of Ron Wyatt's discoveries or otherwise too young to really know what was going on, so forgive my ignorance.

Questions regarding Ron Wyatt

mikeyswen79

Hi, Mikeyswen79,

I would invite you to take a look at www.anchorstone.com and peruse the archives especially. The crosses are thought to have been placed on the stones by the Crusaders. If you are not a believer in the Noah's Ark story it looks like rocks and mud...If you do believe then you will note that the area is right, the length is right as well as the width.

I will be just as candid as you regarding the location of the Ark of the Covenant. I have some problems with it as well... The part about the blood trickling down onto the ark makes sense when you look at the whole picture of the sacrifice system However...not necessarily necessary to complete the Plan of Salvation.

I find the whole story fascinating especially when Ron said that the angel told him not to come back into the passage...that when the time was right it would be open. Five or six (I don't remember how many exactly) Israeli soldiers went in and were all found dead of brain hemmorages..Ron had to go in bring them out at the request of the Israeli authorities.

If you are wondering what my connection is with all the above I am a member of the board of Anchorstone International which is dedicated to following up and studying Ron Wyatt's Discoveries. I went to the Noah site about five years ago. You are correct. The scientific community thinks that Ron was a lunatic and that the rest of us are all "nuts"... even the denomination gives us short-shrift. Ron was not a scientist......and Gideon was not a soldier..... I am hoping that we will uncover a bit more evidence at the Noah's site which might help give more credence to the other sites as well. If you will PM me with your mailing address I will be glad to mail you one of our newsprint-type bulletins concerning a number of Ron's 'Discoveries'.

Regards, Glad

Hey gladussee one of the things I remember about wyatt was the book the Ark of the Covenant by John Gray I believe. I thought that it was very interesting. Everything in the book seemed very believable, at least I had no problem with what was in it.

When I was at the Seminary, and in Israel, they would point out things with his material. He brought his evidence of the Ark of the Covenant to Sigred Horn to try to convince him, Horn not only did not accept the evidence but wrote an article refuting the evidence in Bible Archaeology Review.

If I recall correctly, part of his views was that the crossing of the Red Sea was over a deep area, rather than the Sea of Reeds which until modern building projects, would divide from time to time, last time in the 1920s at great loss of life of those who when in to observe the event. But Wyatt's proposed crossing is a place to make the crossing completely supernatural, as opposed to the Adventist Principle of natural and supernatural working together, that God controls his natural laws (which is why we have hospitals and the health message rather than Penticostal type healing services, we believe in God cooperating with and having control over his laws instead of God being wishy washy towards his own law, keeping it in one instant but breaking his own law based on his wishy washy whims.) Anyway, Wyatt had said he can see the wheels of Pharaoh chariots sitting on the bottom of the sea where he says the crossing was, and it was pointed out that with the forces of nature, deteriation, the thousands of years of water moving things in and out and settament that to be able to see the chariot wheels sitting in visual site in the 20th century would be an even greater miricle than the crossing itself.

As for Noah's Ark; When Christianity began spreading through out the world, durring like the couple of centuries after Jesus and the apostles, but also after Constaintaine, the different countries wanted Bible Stories to have taken place in their country. They had a problem in that most of the stories took place in Israel / Judah, or Babylon. However for Noah people did not know where the mountains of Ararat is located, so most of these countries picked a mountain in their borders that they claimed to be the real Mt. Ararat. There were as many "Real Mt. Ararat"s as there were "real crosses" being sold in Rome when Luther went to Rome. This mountain in Turkey is only one of many many mountains which became known as Mt. Ararat in the post Constantine age when these countries that wanted Bible Stories to have taken place in their land. The history of this mountain being "Mt. Ararat" only dates to the time of the spread of Christianity and where every country wanted a Mt. Ararat. The reason Turkey's mountain has become the popular one is because it was the only one on the pathway of the crusaders. Had the crusaders never come the mountain would have still have been one of many "Real Mt. Ararats". Had the crusaders traveled more, they would have found more Mt. Aarats, and it would have been still just one of many claimants. However as the crusaders would only come across that one of many mountains and tell their families in Europe that it was Mt. Ararat, it became the famous Mt. Ararat. However this mountain is more north and I believe a little west of Babylon, and the Bible places Mt. Ararat east of Babylon, not North - West where this mountain is located. Also Wyatt pictures Noah just leaving the ark and abandoning it or leaving it as a monument. If the flood was as divestating as the Bible teaches, Noah and his family most likely disassembled the ark to use for firewood, shelter etc. until the earth recovered. It has also been pointed out that what ever mountain it's on, if it was lower in the mountain the ark would have been biodiagradable and thus would have rotted away. If higher, the mounatin glacers would not have preserved it but crushed it.

One interesting note in what Mikeyswen79's post asking about the rock with the 8 crosses; Once again these would have been from the crusaders, and again while before the crusaders this mountain was one of many mountains all claiming to be the true Mt. Ararat, and this was the on that the crusaders found in their journey. However in the time of the Dead Sea Scrolls the last letter of the Hebrew alphabet, the Tau, was made as a cross "+" or "X" In the dead sea scrools they saw texts talking about God as the first letter of the alphabet and put that over those texts and when they came to talking about texts about the messiah they would put the last letter, "+" or "X" over those texts and Jewish graves began to have crosses on them as a sign that they were waiting for the Messiah to come and resurect them. So by the time of Jesus the cross was already an established Jewish symbol for the Messiah. When Jesus said "I am the Alpha and the Omaga" that was the first and last letters of the Greek alphabet, but it is a reference to the "Alaph and Tov" the first and last letters of the Hebrew alphabet that were symbols of God and the Messiah. Jesus was saying I am God and the Messiah.

I don't know if Wyatt's find was legit or not -- but I do know this;

People claim to today to find Dinosaur fossils 60 million years old (not merely 3500 years old as in the case of the iron chariot wheels) that are not buried more than a foot under the sand -- and some even exposed.

So the idea that the rusted remains of an iron wheel could not have been quickly covered in the rush of water and then slowly uncovered over the centuries just as Dinosaur fossils have been (over an even longer time, 4500 years probably -- but still they claim 60 million years and still those fossils are at or near the surface today) -- does not pass muster. Sigred needs to try another solution.

in Christ,

Bob
